Rotor bearing or main bearing would be my guess, had the same problem with shimano ci4, felt smooth to wind without line but then tie on a 1g jighead and rough as guts cheers

the newer breed of top shelf Daiwa reels do not let water inside, snapps lost his Luvius over the side to a big mully, it took us 3 hours to find it and when he took it in for a service the guy said it was bone dry and like new inside.I have never pulled my Daiwas apart and they run as smooth as the day i bought them, the only problem i have had is the bearing in the bail arm roller, believe me this IS your problem! symptoms are exactly the same as you described cheers chuck

I wouldn't rule out anyone, could very well be them tradies. The thing is, thieves are so good at what they do. If they see an opportunity they will go for it. No matter where, no matter when.I had an outfit stolen in a blink of an eye not too long ago at the West Lakes bridge. Left it unattended for not even a minute! and BAM it was gone..It sucks no doubt, just take it on the chin and be more cautious. THIEVES ARE EVERYWHERE.I will definitely keep my eye out for this..

Same as T Bone use the black magic circles for whiting just buy the whiting snatchers straight out like $5 a packet, lip hooking the fish is especially handy when the rubbish fish are around as you dont loose the whole hook!
