  1. If it's your first time using braid, I'd go with 10lb sunline super PE. It's thinner than or equal to 4 or 6lb power pro.I have been using 10lb in the white colour for a couple of years now and I can't recall a single wind knot.10lb super PE will break at around 10lb where as power pro, fireline etc. 4 and 6lb could break anywhere between 10-20lb.
  2. Spotted these on the EJ Todd website. I think they look the goods.Mulloway and flatties will probably go crazy for these.http://youtu.be/ZoA592UJgI4http://youtu.be/725F7sQNtKI
  3. Might be a little big for salmon at 18cm long.Looks like a good garfish imitation though.
  4. ^^^^ A wild weasel is what I use for Mullies. The guides are a little small, but I had no problem running 15lb fluoro leader using an FG or slim beauty knot.
  5. I would go with the symetre 2500 with 5lb power pro or 10lb sunline super pe.Most of the shimano 2500s can run 3000 spool aswell. So you could buy a 3000 spool to go with your 2500 and run 15lb on it.In terms of the rod I would go a 3-5 or 3-6 kg over a 1-4 or 2-4kg. Around the 7ft markA 3-5 Gives you the option of casting a heavier lure if needed, and will be more versatile. Eg. Be able to use snapper fishing. What's your budget if you don't mind me asking?
  6. There is a lot of talk in the US forums about those reel weights being wrong, especially in the smaller models.Apparently they could be lighter than what is stated there.Guess we will have to wait till AFTA to find out though.
  7. I think these are just Catalinas for the American market.Pretty much the same specs and price point.http://www.daiwa.com/reel/detail.aspx?id=683
  8. Does anyone do bulk spools of Sunline Super PE?
  9. What are you guys getting at????We know it's been reviewed. But he has taken both editions of the Stella SW out of his top 5...They were there, now they are not.Must be a reason. A reel can't just go backwards?
  10. From what I can gather, he had some angry emails from shimano sponsored anglers / shimano after his not too favorable review of the Stella SWB.It looks like he got the s@$ts and just removed both Stellas from the list.Either that or Daiwa's in his pockets eg. His raving review of the Catalina. But who knows?
  11. Telling someone to do something dangerous / illegal. You're kidding aren't you.Plus there is at least a 20ft gap about 30m down the old jetty now. This year a mate and I were waiting for the swell to die down a little at cape jervis so we decided to troll in close around the Morgan's beach area. Picked up 3 decent snook in about 20min.I could see no reason why you wouldn't get them off the beach itself.
  12. Found these on this site http://www.allfishingbuy.com/Landing-Nets.htmAnyone bought anything from here before?Would be perfect for the Jetty / RocK anglers around the place.
  13. Fortune favours the brave.Hopefully the reports in here will give motivation, when we would otherwise spend the day on the couch.
  14. Breakwater Mullies seem to be the go during this sort of weather in the eastern states.River mouths etc. with run out tide.Outer Harbour might be worth a crack. Would not be looking forward to the wet and slippery walk/jump out there though.
  15. Considering the weather at the moment I would love to here some bad weather success stories. When toughing it out reaped reward.Strong winds, rain you name it.Port Noarlunga jetty is an obvious place where weather plays a big part.Be good to hear about other spots aswell.
  16. Any safe ledge at the top of the Bight, that drops into deeper water would be worth a fish.Could catch anything. Just make sure you watch swell for a good 20-30 minutes before you venture to your spot.
  17. Would it work? From footage I've seen fish tend to pick them off one at a time, rather than grabbing huge mouthfuls of 5 or 6.
  18. For me a slow jig similar to this. If I could narrow it down to one size 65gSo versatile. Land based or boat. Not much in the sea that won't have a go at something like this.Salmon, Snapper to kingfish.
  19. Jealous! What did you spool it with mate?
  20. Up on the Shimano North America site nowhttp://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/reels/saltwater_spinning/Saragosa_SW.htmlLooks like a 6000 will be coming my way.
  21. Ha! I probably read that April post 10 times and missed the full sealed part. That's pretty good if true.
  22. Where did you find that ausea?I could only find the info I posted originally.
  23. Not for the price these are, I wouldn't think so.
  24. No reason, just where I would be using it the majority of time.Plus the lack of anti reverse switch helps, one less place to get water/sand.
