Hey Wadey i don't know about the motor your looking for but my dad turned our old hand winch on our 17ftr trailer into auto by throwin a holden barina flywheel on the side with a bracket holdin the starter motor seems to do the job fine. maybe a bigger starter motor will be better for bigger boats tho. i can prob take a few pics if u are interested

I have a penn senator 9/0 with pretty close to 950m of 50lb mono on a 35kg double roller mallaluka solid glass, and a R&A's diawa 9/0 rod n reel special with as much 50lb mono i could ramm in her, plus a ebay special called a bond we call it a 4.5/0 with 30lb mono on a borrowed backbone.My fav rig i'm usin is 15ft of 350lb wind on leader attached to bout 12ft of telecom rope (to help with controling the head) down to bout 10ft of 1.7mm wire i bought from a rigging store and a cpl of owner 12/0'sI've added a few of my fav pic's of mine and a mates collection of mono...
  4. i use an ex cadet hiking back pack its massive light (when empty, got heaps of pockets, is water proof an carries most of everything i'd need for a night or so.. i got mine from aussie disposals for 50 bux

  6. i use a penn senator 9/0 i personally i jus leave it in free spool with the ratchet on with it set to fighting drag give it a good 10seconds to run with the bait, if its gonna get hooked it keep runnin with it, then i step to the edge lower the tip take a few good steps backwards (to help take up slack an line stretch best i can) an strike like hell... seem's to do the trick for myself pretty well..good luck
  7. hey dude most has been covered by the looks of it except for keep a bottle of water on hand at ALL times to keep your drag cool.. the last thing u need is a lock-up especially if ur tied in an not that heavy set...also when ever you decide to keep a shark for food VERY 1ST thing is de-fin an tail it along with head an guts.. i've been told they release something back into the flesh after death that aint good for the belly.. don't have any hard proof but i'd rather be safe with it..good luck dude an so far u've got alot more info than what i had when i started so u should be set..jus remember t
