Hello all
Wondering if anyone can help me at all.
Im heading to the Vic high country for a 4wd trip next week and over easter
and I'm looking to chuck a rod in and have a bit of a flick.
Im thinking of bringing my bream rod and some lures
but honestly i have no idea where i should start?
I don't have many lures so would like to purchase some specific
Guess trout would be the main species? what else would be in those streams?
thanks
Luke

Certainly handy to have especially if you plan on going anywhere remote.I have a "Ridge Ryder Ultimate Air Compressor" which i got for $150 on special and its very good so far.Similar to the Tigerz11 which gets good reviews often http://www.tigerz11.com.au/product-category/compressors/thumper-air-compressor.html

Dont really need a compressor for goolwa, servo is not real far - just keep the speeds down.

Mostly boat based.IMO bait runner will do fine on the beach for me, wont be that often and ill keep it out of the sand and water.

Iv got a Baitrunner OC 8000 which i use on my snapper rod (and surf rod)I dont generally bother to use the bait runner feature for snapper but it is hand for letting line out or rigging etc.Should be good for live baiting for mulloway etcSolid reel and very smooth.

We regularly use north haven boat ramp' date=' think that annoys us the most is the guys that pull up right up top of the ramp and then start to get there boat ready meanwhile blocking up lanes for people that are ready. It's not hard to get everything ready in the car park whilst getting your ticket too.[/quote']That is my biggest annoyance! We launched saturday morning around 6am, there were about 5 boats that drove straight in and decided it was good idea to rig up on the ramp. Makes it hard to get in, straighten up and reverse. We always stop in the carpark, put rods up, take tie downs off, get a ticket etc then go to the ramp.

Has been rather windy.Iv been keen to get out but each time its been to windy for a 4.2 tinny

Left in the car park? When you go be careful and make sure to lock your cars and not to leave any valuables in eye shot. As I said before we got our limit in bout 10mins and someone had tried to pop the lock on my old mans ute with a screwdriver

damn we must have gotten a dud spot.Took us over an hour to get 300 with 2 of us.
-
we collected 300 on friday - weighed 4kgs
You realise the daily limit is 300 per person? Thats about 2 - 3 kg of legal size cockleshopefully I can get a years worth

If you happen to get stuck in the sand and need to get out quick let lots of air out your tyres eg down to as low as 10psi and you will generally drive out (and if you dont then you are truly stuck!)

Flip down spare/third wheel makes life heaps easier. Also get a winch with step down ratio if finding it too hard.

Im surprised the jetty can take the load of that crane!

As much as looks like the law was broken. The shark was already in the water and in the area. The "danger" was already there, he just exposed it.

I think its more targeted at "release if it were allowed"

ReleaseMainly due to difficulty in killing and disposing of them.
