  1. With the UV light and all.....is that the same type of thing that makes the Shimano Keimura so good?
  2. Protactic is selling a Humminbird 345C.........http://www.strikehook.com/forum/64-buy-sell-swap-or-trade/153248-humminbird-345c
  3. Welcome to the site kenneth. I have had the same problem with squid before as well. I don't think there is any way of visibly seeing whether a squid/cuttlefish is pregnant without cutting it up unfortunately. Good to hear you were prepared to do the right thing though.
  4. Looks good. Especially the way that they are made so that the SPs can be kept in their own scent.
  5. My friend's dad found himself with a mustad suicide halfway through his arm last summer. With blood pouring everywhere it sure wasn't a great look.
  6. Great vid jimbo, nice work with the different camera shots alongside the actual footage. I thought it looked really good mate.
  7. Just out of interest. What overhead are you planning to put with the rod? I'm new to big fish beach fishing so I'm interested to see what sort of setups people have out there.
  8. Very well put Cal. I totally agree. That pro guy sounds pretty :c hypocritical.
  9. Do you bury some burley a few mm under the sand at low tide so when the tide comes in it washes the smell back out to the fish or do you use a stake into the sand then tie a burley bucket to it?
  10. Well done Chris. I guess I'll just have to keep trying.
  11. Yeah I think tying a blood knot will be better. The snap swivel already changes the tow point from the actual lure so I don't think a loop knot is necessary. Because of their vigorous action, vibes don't have to be work too hard. The simple vertical lift and drop technique will imitate an injured baitfish fluttering down through the water column.Cheers, breambo.
  12. Okay I understand many of you use lures. Do you still burley up when flicking lures for salmon or do you just not worry about it?
  13. If you look around a bit you should be able to find a fairly recent 'new topic' made about the bloodworm run. There are some good opinions there fella.
  14. And you use the 2-4kg rod for all of your freshwater fishing (eg redfin and trout)?
  15. Willyweather looks like a great site. With the weather, wind, rain chance, tides etc. it looks like a necessity to check before each fishing session.
  16. yeah i was playing around with one the other day tonyb. They have a lovely stiff tip for lure work.
  17. any favourite surf popper brands del?
  18. Hi guys,I'm just after to any helpful suggestions regarding surf salmon rigs. At the moment I use an ezy-rig with 40lb mono, 2-3 ganged size 3/0 hooks, a squidgy flick bait or fish on a dropper and a star sinker. Just wondering whether any of you have slight modifications in your rigs that help you to catch more fish. I'm open to any suggestions.
  19. Yeah I would just love to go up there and fish with him. He's pretty bloody good at fly fishing.
  20. Whilst fishing in his privately owned river in Scotland, my sister's father in law caught a 10KG Brown Trout on fly.
  21. So will I! They look awesome. The Japanese do alright with their lure-making that's for sure! :cheer:
  22. Maybe a Squidgy Blue Pilly Flickbait?
  23. Sounds like a good tactic jagger. Know of any colours that outperform others?
