99% of my plastics are ZMan or Squidgy Biotough as I have what you might term "confidence lures" in both ranges.

Metals I'm not fussed with whatever brand; hardbodies I mainly sway towards Rapala . This is all todo with th estyle of fishing I do as I am a lot more likely to throw plastics over hardbodies for bream/flatties and the like whereas where canal fishing/breakwalls I am mainly throwing Rapala baits.

Look at the TCurve Saltwater spins.

I've never used glue, or hooked over the eyelet or anything like that; maybe I'm just used to realigning my plastic that it's a force of habit.

Anyone have any feedback or experience with the Crucis Travel Rods? Looking at grabbing one for a FNQ trip, specifically the 7ft 11 4-7 kg one, and wondering if anyone has anything to say about them? Never heard of the brand before until today. Cheers.

Light? Shimano 1-4kg 7ft6 Cranx with either a Sedona2500 with 10lb braid or a Daiwa Laguna 2000 with 6lb braid. Good surf fun.

10ft 6 Prevail with a Freams 4000 and 20lb braid.

7ft 6 Shimano Cranx with a Laguna 2000 and 6lb braid; still can throw 30g on that.

Braid with a mono leader all the time.But I have experimented with the Platypus lo-stretch stuff.

Headed to Lock 3 today. The wife and I caught over 50 plus Silver perch from 20-40cm' date=' 30 plus callop from 12-38cm, a single 22cm catfish and a handful of relatively small carp.We took photos of the first few of each, then it got to the point we were sick of catching Silver Perch. the large ones fought very well on 6lb braid.Ate the only callop we kept for tea tonight (baked with chilli, basil and tomatoes in the cavity).[/quote']Great to hear about so many natives.

I heard via Facebook that there were heaps of mullet around the Southport walking bridge yesterday so decided to head down there this morning on a livie mission. Was flyfishing lower eyre peninsula the other week' date=' put the burley out, got the usual bait fish around. Couldnt resist but catch a few. Was tommies and gar out a bit further. Kept a few for livebait. All of a sudden i see a fin breach the surface in the distance. Thought nothing of it just figured it was a few dolphins. I always use yellow or crystal.

I usually cocktail whiting baits with circles. Double pin the Cockle and then and single pin on the tip of the circle a squid strip. That way they get the cockle smell and taste but because of the toughness of the squid thye 'usually' can't get it off and if they do. They have a reason to come back again.Cheers TT

Did a bit of rock fishing at Second Valley today, nothing special, just some small sweep, and a small trevally and a wrasse. All released. And I might be heading to Sugars Beach tomorrow.

You might be onto something there fished out. Could u imagine if they stocked the lake with couple if thousand juvie kings. How good would that be!!! Our own Sydney harbour in our backyard! Not as silly as it sounds they'd have no reason to leave due to the amount of feed in there only question would be would the temp be suitable??? It would be a hub for sport fishing mullies bream and kinggys!! Wowser!
