  2. Hello All,I am a stinking bait fisherman most the time so i am after some information. The trend seems to be leaning towards the conversion of treble hooks to singles, i understand the concept behind this but i am wondering if readers can help me out with the brands they feel are best.local store stocks Owners and Gomakatsu. Both well known and excellent brands. For some background I planning on converting some of my metal slugs to singles.Kind Regards.

  4. Headed of to Blanchetown this morning with the club. All day!!We managed to catch a few carp, nothing over 3kg. Nothing special in regard to natives, except i caught someones old rig; a 5 ounce sinker with 2 x 3/0 on a wire trace and about 3 yards of 80lb braid. Some might think this was a little odd, i know i do.
  5. Nice work, i think they do a dvd highlights from the day, combined with a little additional footage. They sell you photos from the day also.

The wife and I caught over 50 plus Silver perch from 20-40cm, 30 plus callop from 12-38cm, a single 22cm catfish and a handful of relatively small carp.We took photos of the first few of each, then it got to the point we were sick of catching Silver Perch. the large ones fought very well on 6lb braid.Ate the only callop we kept for tea tonight (baked with chilli, basil and tomatoes in the cavity).

  12. Good Afternoon,Can anyone assist me with on advice around the Adajio Casting Lures. i have pasted a link below. http://www.tackleworldadelaide.com.au/products/Duel-Adagio-%5BSinking%5D.htmlLooking at using them in the style of Mensforth/Worstling from the beach casting at salmon on our trip to port lincoln in june. They appear expensive for a casting lure at $20 each. when you can buy a pack of 3 halco from Kmart for less.i release they are different styles, but still a salmon is only a salmon and if they are on they are on. cheers
  13. Firstly Welcome.Secondly, you are talking 2 different styles of fishing. Regardless of this you will need to work out your personal preferance. From my personall experience i prefer 9" rods from the bank, and 6" from the tinny. As metnioned by cfr, the longer rods can act like more of a lever. At time the 6" rods are more then adequete from the banks, especially if fishing in and around willows/trees.Can i suggest getting 1 rod around 9" and 1 around 6". After some trips you will soon work out what you like. On a club trip (Gawler Angling Club) to the river i will often take 4 rods, 2 x 6" and
  14. stradic hands down.I have the Stradic 2500 & 5000 and CY2500 & 4000. The CY is basically the same as the exceller. The stradics have never had anything go wrong, the Diawa have been back tot eh shop for lumpy bearings. I wont be buying a Diawa reel for years, until they prove they have up graded thier bearings.
