  1. I got my rig from from a tackle store in Port Adelaide. Just across from Hungry Jacks on Port road. Used their rigs which are designed for bream and salmon trout. Comes with a tiny sinker which goes on your main line. Then tie it onto the swivel and has 2 hooks. One is just sliding up and down the line, the other one is actually tied to the line. Put your prawn on and then do a half hitch around the tail of prawn. I generally use a whole prawn as well.
  2. Garden Island has bream. When I was there, I fished with prawns just before and after high tide. I fished where a little creek came out of the mangroves and cast right into the middle. Try and go as light as possible, lightest sinker. The port is also a great place. Any structure e.g. pillions, bridges. Same principle as Garden Island jetty. You would be likely to pick up so bream using this technique. Know doubt some of the other guys on here would have better tips. As it comes into summer, the species will start coming as well. Read peoples reports and they will no doubt say something about h
  3. What makes the places so good?
  4. So I am currently in Year 11. As a component, I have to do the research project. As I am a very keen fisherman, I decided to research it. My question is: Where are the best places in South Australia for salmon fishing?. I plan on discovering what baits and lures work best in a particular area and what makes that place so productive. There are many places in South Australia that are every good for salmon fishing but I can only research a few. I have decided to compare salmon fishing in the following locations: one place from the Eyre Peninsula, one place from the Yorke Peninsula, one place from
  5. I tend to use fluorocarbon for must small fish. Anything like snapper and bigger, I wouldn't bother. I do use braid though, so it is awesome for that. Has in fact caught me out a few times, seen a little bait fish coming towards me, then realised it is my lure. The stuff is awesome.
  6. I assume this indicated to me. I would be keen for that, you would be drinkign the 6 pack though, I am only 16 hahaha. What are you meant to do after you catch them, as in, that is alot of worm to go on a hook, slice it up into smaller peices?
  7. So do you just berley them out and then quickly grab them? Do they stick there heads out much?
  8. How do you get the worms from the tennyson sand bar? bait pump?

    Surf Rod

Yea exactly. Dont want to be out of the FWC with an OH and no idea or experience on how to use it!!
  10. Hey mate, I was in the same predicament a few weeks ago. I already had the Penn Spinfisher 850 SSM. I went into Ray and Annes and they sorted me out. They said that the sensor surf is good, but for the price, the Shimano Beach Basher for $139. I went with a Japanese mono line, not sure the brand, as he said it is better quality than the Chinese line. The Spinfisher doesn't lay braid well. I went with a 30lb mono line. I can highly recommend the guys at Ray and Annes. The Penn Spinfisher is a good reel though. I like it. These thread helped me.http://www.strikehook.com/forum/35-bait-tackle/2284

    Surf Rod

Yea mate, it is one of there dynamix rods. What do you mean you despise big threadline outfits? Yea, the rod is yet to be christened, hopefully in a few weeks. Feels a good rod though, feels strong enough to get the big mullies, but to have some fun on the salmon as well.

    Surf Rod

Well, I ended up going for neither. Bought a Shimano Beach Basher. Found out the but is graphite, but it then turns into fibre glass. Also a lot cheaps than the other 2 rods. Said even people who are always going to the FWC and catch big mullies swear by them.
  14. Where is that? Rings a bell, just can't put my finger on it!!

    Surf Rod

Stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm wanting a Daiwa Sensor surf for FWC Mulloway and salmon, however, heard they can snap easily when casting! So then looking at the Snyder Glass mt8144. I'm not the bulkiest bloke around so I'm wanting something fairly lightish. Any recommendations?
