  1. I was down there on Sunday evening and it was open. Bloody freezing though, and the pipe thing isn't finished either.
  2. Thanks guys - hopefully will get to flick some around on Sunday, I'll give 'em a shot
  3. +1 vote for pullover without a zip. Much comfier and warmer on those cold nights And $35 is a lot cheaper than I was expecting, I'm almost tempted to get 2 at that price!
  4. Alright. So I don't have any of the Z-mans, but I did just find an old packet of these: http://products.atomiclures.com.au/products/product/PFG3-OP?category=RBXFIKMT&Given they look extraordinarily similar, would these produce similar results? And do these sorts of plastics have a shelf life, as they've been in the shed for a few years :S
  5. Big font on the t-shirts, little font on the hoodie. I would happily pay for a grey hoodie with small text and a black or white t-shirt with large text. And the fish logo is much better than just text :)I also like the little fish logo on the back on the shoulders too in the new ones.
  6. Yeah I've just gone to ebay and was looking at them myself. most are around $7.50 with free postage, or theres one 'buy it now' for $2.50 with $7 postage and they come in a huge variety of colours. I'm definitely getting one, and if I catch just 1 fish on it I'll be stoked, and buy another 3... One in the Yak, and a couple in the glovebox. For 10 bucks for a whole set-up I really don't care how crap it is!
  7. Salmon Trout and Tommies pulling on one of those with 4lb braid would be good fun, I still think it would be great for in my kayak. At 25 bucks you can bash it around and if it breaks? -no biggy! I think a trip to BCF or ebay might be in order!
  8. That actually looks pretty cool. Do you know how much it costs?? It would be nice to have a 'spare' or backup rod in my kayak to chase garfish and tommies. Of course now it's just not practical to take any more than two rods, but that would easily fit in my forward storage hatch. The humble tommy would feel a lot stronger and put up a decent fight on that I reckon. It would certainly make things more interesting.
  9. Good questions I would also like to know the answer too Gilbert. Got some sort of Japanese 'Yamashita' blade included in a fishing mag a few months ago I want to try out
  10. I'd be happy to cough up a few $$ for a shirt and sticker to support the site that's helped me actually catch a fish
  11. What sort of size, looks like you have a few decent ones there?
  12. Definitely stick to the shallows for crabs, me and a mate go swimming and snorkelling under the jetty in the swimming area with a rake and a plastic tub (and a measuring thingy) and got 8 legal size crabs in an hour of swimming, not to mentions the ones that ran away. It's a bit more interesting than just swimming pointlessly
  13. I got this too.. I found this bit particularly interesting... " Over the past 90 days, strikehook.com appeared to function as an intermediary for the infection of 5 site(s) including fishingcampingforum.com/, fishep.com/, sa.gov.au"Apparently this site has somehow infected a government page?
  14. Great idea, I wouldn't mind having a couple of 'Pet' fish... :woohoo: As long as you have a holding tank large enough, and keep the oxygen and temp levels close enough to their natural habitat I can't see why not, especially with shitties, as they seem to be quite hardy fish.
  15. If the Bream are hungry they will chomp anything. I'd agree the marina would have to be your best bet for Bream. I seem to catch alot of bream as bycatch when I'm using cockles for whiting, and I've never caught a Bream on any lure, plastic or hardbody, despite months of trying and probably over 100 bucks spent on them. So unless you know how to use lures I wouldn't bother!
  16. All I know is there are some big tides there. Be careful of getting stranded at low tide.
  17. Launched yesterday at lunch time but the tide was going out.... Awful. Water was barely knee deep and not a single whiting.patch in sight. Went to Edinburgh last night. Got 12 Tommies and a nice fat gar fish in 2 hours
  18. Good point there CFR looking to the west. +1 for the good old Bureau, always been the best for me. Their wind charts are helpful too, whenh i can remember how to find them haha
  19. Went to Pt Gawler a few days ago. half a dozen undersized Bream, a dozen trumpeters (frozen for squid teasers/ crab bait) and a baby KG whiting. Lots of action from the small bait stealers, couldnt keep a cockle on the hook for 2 seconds :(Saw another guy get a large Bream on live worm, easily well over 30cm. Something interesting I noticed, all the bream had a dirty bronze discolouration to they're scales. Any idea what this is caused by, environmental influences? Diseased? :S
  20. Sounds amazing, i just got a whole lot more excited about this trip. I was just a little apprehensive because I've stayed inStansbury 2 or 3 times and pulled 2 or doughnuts...Ill be sure to posta nice report up when i get back
  21. Hey guys, we're spending a few days down at Coobowie for the long weekend, I was just wondering if there is much on offer either from the beach or paddling around in the Yaks :woohoo: Also, are there squid in that area, or would I better driving back up to Wool Bay for the jetty, or possibly paddling the area around that jetty/ pt giles jetty?
  22. I've always found willyweather to be really inaccurate. Bureau of Meteorolgy is the most accurate site around and they say showers for thursday and thats about it. Definately go for sure!
  23. Thanks guys, i have a Burley pot which i bought a few weeks ago for my kayak... I want sure if would work fishing off rocks but I'll get done whiting nuts and give it a shot. I have some premixed burlery stuff which had gone all dry but I'm adding some tubs oil and I'll give it a shot
