  1. Haha Im not local there Tony. One of my mates went fishing in the river and landed about 20 bream on corn. Biggest went 34cm but most undersized.
  2. Nice, deffinately post pics up! Were they decent size?
  3. There's a decent river called the Bungala River which holds some pretty good bream! Fish behind the caravan park and you'll get some awesome bream.
  4. alex was that recording you took at the very end of semaphore jetty netmanEverytime I go to semi, they're always there. They usually swim around the end of the jetty and attract crowds.
  5. Here's a seal at semaphore the other day! They're pretty annoying when your crabbing.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt8FfmAL1_k&list=UUxLwpnGq1d_jrervS7icLGQ&feature=player_detailpage
  6. Great work, I can't wait to see the west lakes report! Looking forward to it.
  7. Just got back from west lakes again and scored 4 decent 35cm salmon! Anyone see me there? :silly:
  8. Im heading down there today again. I don't think we have the best chance but it's worth a try!
  9. So yesterday I headed off to West Lakes to see what was happening. A massive school of salmon schooled up near the steps and there was a dude who caught one every cast! Sadly I didn't bring a rod but, he had 2 rods but there was too much happening to use both so he let me use the other rod! He was a great bloke. After the school had moved on, I had landed 3 decent 35cm+ salmon! He had at least 20 so he gave some away. He gave use 3 more so we had a nice bag of 6 salmon. I really thank him a lot because if he wasn't there, we wouldn't get a nice feed. Cheers to him!
  10. Ended up with a nice feed of 35cm+ salmon today at west lakes. A whole school showed up... you know what that means. There were fishing lines everywhere!
  11. Seems like a similar story as my mate's one! I reckon there are some massive bream in the lake. That's why they're so big! They're smart...
  12. I've heard a story from my mate that he witnessed a man land a massive 55cm-65cm from west lakes at the Bower rd end! He was using snapper gear and had pilchard cubes as bait! I didn't believe it but i wanna know if anybody else has seen or landed a bream like that from west lakes? My biggest from the lake is only 32cm...
  13. I've always dreamed of something like that happening at a local beach... :side:
  14. I am looking forward to Summer as it will produce some decent Whiting, Snook and Gar! I still havn't caught any and I will hopefully catch some this Summer! :woohoo: I've seen the other topic about YFW on poppers and this is making me egar to try! I will mostly be using lures to target these species preferably sp. I have seen some decent snook smashing baitfish and zooming fully out of the water just at the end of Glenelg Jetty! Also some small garfish all around. But I have never caught any of these fish!!! Can anybody give me advise on where, how and what lures are most effective fo
  15. Yea, at the trimmer parade end, I was there last year and when the gates opened, everybody was catching BIG 40cm+ KGW! :woohoo: We even saw schools of them swim up into the shallows! Also when the KGW are on the bite, the salmon are too! The salmon (35cm+) there are thick when the gates open. You will always see big bream cruising in the shallows on top of the weed beds but don't bother trying for them... They never bite. Cheers Alex.
  16. Went to west lakes today but didn't see anything nor catch anything.... And it was also full of weed! So we moved to Grange jetty and still had no luck... A guy next to us had already caught 4 mullet before we got there! And another guy caught 8!!! All the action had stopped before I got there... :pinch: Cheers Alex.
  17. 20 whales!?!? That's unbelievable! :woohoo: Great to see them populating though!
  18. If the water is dirty it should also bring the snapper in close to the jetties! And salmon also! But I still hate this weather...
  19. Hey mate, upstream in shallows usually have mullet mooching around. It's pretty hard to hook one though. There's a footbridge upstream and you can usually see them crusing around from up there! Good Luck! Alex.
