  1. Check under brag board forum, I got some tips up there mate. Under "biggest carp " last page. U might wanna ask wannabe though I have very limited experience fishing for them.
  2. I just use extra longer leader when it's tougher conditions. Some good tips there! I find braid sticks to rocks A lot more though than fluro or mono. Maybe it's the braid I use?
  3. I found this 1 a while ago looking for a 1-3lb stick for whiting, it's probably sold by now, but you might find another one out there. Think it's a ninja, or kamikaze. Looks good to me!
  4. Well done mate! Not too many forms of the sport you haven't had luck with you should try some shrimp patterns sometime! Might persuade a yellowfin or two! Good all rounder for flatties, bream, and pretty much everything we get here! Keep it up mate!
  5. Kiwi does add flavour, I normally take 80% off b4 cooking, as it takes away from the abalone flavour if anymore. Garlic near the end so doesn't burn. 1hour if cut first. Haven't done whole b4. Lemon after cooking, as it will cook it b4. Kiwi has enzymes that break down fibres, without cooking it.
  6. Kiwi fruit pulp and juice for 1 hour in the fridge. Season with lemon and garlic. The BOMB!
  7. And while I'm at it, does anyone know what the deal is with these? What do they mean by "non drag"? As in no way for fish to take line? Or some other system besides back winding? Been trying to find out, but haven't managed to find out. Shurely they wouldn't make something that hi-tec that's completely useless??
  8. Now that's an awesome spool for long casting!
  9. Does look good, i just prefer the shallower spools for casting distance. Does anyone know if the spools are interchangeable? Ie. Can you just swap a deep spool for shallow spool on the daiwa's? I was looking at this reel, but can't find it anywhere... It's abit big for what I want, but I'd make do for around $150.
  10. I was thinking if getting the sir edge myself. It looks like the only rod with the air guide system (AGS) for under $300-400 out there. Let me know how it go's mate, and if the casting lives up to all the hype from I-cast awards. There's so much choice, I can't choose Gona have to get two of each I think. Didn't realise you could change spool size on reels eitha! That's realy good to know! Make sure when you wind your braid on, not to let the braid come off the side of the spool ( u probrably already know this) I put a screwdriver through the hole, put a rag against it. And get my wife to
  11. It is a great idea! I'm all for that strategy of finding the variables that influence the fishes feeding habits. There is a lot to be gained from knowing what makes them tick! Not sure I'd like to share all my hard earned knowledge with every man and his dog though You need to bring out your own mate! Based on everything that could be improved on in this 1. I'd definitely pay good money for an ap that does what that one claims it does!! I was thinking of designing 1 for prawn trawling that factors in all the variables with survey results we get at the start of trips, to workout where
  12. Its a pity, I used to just go into my nearest tackle shop and blindly choose out of what was there at the time... Till recently, trying to find a picture of a couple reels I was undecided on, and saw that they were, like 6-7 years old... And the most commen, probably lowest specs in the range... I hadn't even seen 1/100th of what was out there. I know there is huge money in American bass fishing, european carp, barbel, coarse fishing, asian scene with their bream, snakehead....... But c'mon! We seem to be a joke in the tournament scene. Doesn't make it any easier for our guys when we not kee
  13. Both rods I've found with AGS guides after half a day of searching online... All the best spec gear seems to be anywhere but here?? They got a air edge distance casting rod in the range, but it's 5 times the price, and in other countries only... Do we just get the left overs or something?? I've done so much research into some of the most international award winning gear, and almost none of it is sold here! Maybe I just don't know where to look? 90% is in Asia and the rest I can't translate the hyroglyphics everything is written in to know where in the world it is.... Europe, Russia, ...
  14. Yes, I'm a sucker for daiwa and I can't fit 7ft rod in my car. Anyone know why there are no records for the biggest of any species taken on 1lb braid or mono?? I searched the net and came up with 0?! Makes no sense to me! Thought that would be the ultimate angling test....
  15. Certate 1003. Jap model. Or maybe a 2000 in one of these
  16. I'm going 1lb braid, two pound leader for flats, and 2lb braid with probrably 3lb leader for beach and rocks. 1 lb casts unbelievably far!! At least double than four lb. that's my fun.
  17. I know you can order them, but it's hard paying that for a rod you've never held, and trusting it gets here un damaged!
  18. There are a lot of new daiwa's that look realy good. All the xul-l AGS eyes. The airedges seem best value for money. They've got even better ones in japan.... Ive been looking for some new outfits myself. Pitty all the ones that suit my needs are harendoudly expensive! All the best daiwa's for casting seem to be there 2?! Or Europe. All the old daiwa are an absolute bargain now though!! For around $100 outfit, I've seen plenty 500-2000 reels with up to 6 ball bearings for around $50 and the presso 1-4lbs for around the same. That would be my budget pick. Wish you got the AGS presso ove
  19. I was looking at something like this
  20. Still unclear, we are apparently legally allowed to sell to who we want my boss says. As long as we declare the tax. Will have to write a letter to them though to enquire about sales away from processing area for bait. I think if it's labelled "not fit for human consumption" it falls under a different clause and license. But I might be Able to sell directly from the cold store which holds our product we sell back in adelaide. Technically the boat is selling it. I'm just marketing the product and being paid accordingly for my work. And the boat can sell to anyone already.
  21. Thanks mate! Just starting our first trip for new season, so apologies if my signal drops out. Will be back in 7 days.
