so whos been out dynamite fishing? :blink:seriously though, this is concerning , considering it first happened on the west coast and now here.. Anyone see the huge mass of seaweed at glenelg also? never seen anything like it, could be related to the fish kills possibly

mate that fb page looks dodgy as (nice pics tho!), but the guy posted a photo fishing right next to the pylons from a boat! obviously doesn't give a crap about rules, or anyone else using the jetty there is a 4-5m quintrex who frequently does the same, and constantly gets abused by people on the jetty.. why invest in a boat if you want to fish near jetties?
-
will do, pretty sure there are steps from memory so won't be able to get in but I'll come hit you up about those snapper spotsIf you do go make sure you pop into the Tackle shop and say Hi

permanent from what I was told (by a local), some idiots think its a great idea to light fires at the endDoes anyone know if this is a permanent or temporary closure? Cheers
-
cheers guys, basically confirmed what I was thinking. was more worried about holding a rod if theres lightning around lol..I have found willy weather to be wrong before so I think we'll just go for it. Stay tuned for the report!

Hey guys, myself and a mate are booked in to stay at wallaroo thursday and friday night but I just checked the forecast on willys and it looks like it'll be raining and possible storms.. but winds look almost calm (not very accurate i know) :-( would you still go? snapper should be on the chew after the storm, but we'll be mainly going for crabs/squid, and possibly gar off the jetty

prawn shells/heads, crab shells, old cockles/pillies crushed up, bread, and berley pellets soaked in tuna oil work well for me.

back in the day at Wallaroo the japanese guys coming off the ships would offer to buy them if we had caught any, of course we never sold them  not poisonous to touch, they're edible if prepared a certain way that remove the toxins but only the japanese are crazy enough to eat them

hey mate, not sure where your located but you could try Austral Meats in Gepps Cross.
-
what rod and reel are you using, and what are you targeting mate? Maybe try 8-10lb braid and work your way down once you get confident. someone please correct me if im wrong but im preety sure the ratings on most rods and reels are for mono, so you can usually double that for braid..I cant see how a double uni knot can "snap" unless your using old line, imo.
-
I use 8-10lb sufix performance braid with 8-10lb yo-zuri hybrid as leader, and on my heavier outfit for snapper 20lb braid with 30-40lb jinkai leader..all using double uni knots with 8-10 twists and never had one come apart, just make sure the braid is moist but the main thing, keep practicing knots! it'll soon become second nature you'll spit some obscenities you never thought possible and waste alot of line in the process though

Im with UHF, Mad Keen from Wallaroo are great, they take you way out for huge snapper! When I went out I think the tally for the day was around 80, getting a bag of ruggers was impossible! crazy day indeed local, I've been out with John Winslet from Glenelg Fishing Charters, top bloke and he'll get you onto whatever you want to catch.Eyre, Arno Bay Fishing Adventures have a great rep for biggest snapper in SA.. Surprised nobody has mentioned Why Not Fishing Charters out of Coffin Bay! Have a great rep for getting you onto kingies, tuna, snapper, etc. Im heading out with them after xmas, cant wait! http://www.whynotfishingcharters.com.au/
