  2. what a great idea cranka! welcome to the site mate, this is sure to be a hit among the breamers on here
  3. nice one Kev, some good looking fish there! good to see your doing some fishing during your holidays I also find stinky bait works well for other species too, have caught KGW on old squid and cockles before
  4. yeh i bet theres heaps down there! was going to ask a diver if he could get them if he went back in but he ended up leaving, lost 3 of my best yo-zuris that day
  5. you can get a variety of fish from rapid bay jetty. tommies, snook, mullet, leather jackets, squid and if your lucky king fish. went there about a month ago and it was packed, but very quiet..only got 1 tommie which the cat thoroughly enjoyed, lol dont think theres any crabs around, the bottom is mostly rock I think.. bit of a tip, use floats on your squid jags, I've lost so many jags to bloody snags there. think rangers right about the meat thing, small bits on a hook are acceptable for catching mullet or carp.. definately a no no for crabs and burley tho
  6. my mum makes something similar to this, yum! Vegeta is a croatian vegetable powder stock, and being croatian we use it in everything! chicken, fish, soups, roasts, you name it! also goes well sprinkled on steaks on the bbq
  7. i'd reccomend a shimano raider finesse bream rod and sienna/sedona combo, lost mine overboard but loved it sooo much im replacing it in a week or so im currently using a starlo stix pro tournement mid spin with sedona 4000 reel, matter of fact i have two of these combos.. quite capable of pulling in large mullies and snapper, but the rod is a tad more expensive..
  8. congrats to everyone who was in this issue, dubs that was a impressive snaps for sure! Hope to get my mug in sometime.. oh who can i send recipes to btw? I have a much better batter and s&p squid recipe! imo anyway
  9. just like to thank the guys at tackle world today who fixed my starlo stix pro, was really glad you were able to get the tip back on, the rods only been used twice! sorry didnt get your names but i'll be back soon to pick up some more goodies!
  10. thanks dubs, havent had a chance to contact sa rods yet, but think I'll come in to tackle world next weekend anyway as I need to pick up some other supplies, i'll bring the rod with me
  11. thanks for all the replys guys! I had another go at fixing it last night and the guide just wont slide over the rod tip! Im going to give rob a call today as hes just up the road from me, so hopefully he can just put a new guide on

  13. Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone here repairs rods, and lives/works in the northern suburbs? On one of my starlo stix pro mid spin's the last guide on the tip has popped off, it doesnt look like its snapped though. I still have the guide and would like to get it fixed asap, so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.. thanks.

He made it very clear that he wasn't interested in taking a different group every month. He also made it clear that the rough price of $300 was to cover running and ongoing maintenance costs. In return you would likely have the opportunity to go fishing monthly, in an awesome boat, to awesome locations, catching monster fish with opti, who seems like a nice g

From my point of view if there is a law saying that sharing running costs is illegal
  16. oops, no wonder it was mush! lol.. thanks mate, will give it another go for sure, definetely better than using milk imo!
  17. I used 2 kiwi fruits for 4 tubes.. did I use too much??
  18. well i tried this the other night and can confirm YES kiwi does soften the squid, even a bit too much for my liking! the squid was so soft it felt like mash potato im my mouth! next time Im going to try soaking it in kiwi just for an hour or so..
  19. just saw this on the news site, check out the size of this monster!! http://www.wbaltv.com/cnn-news/20302507/detail.html
  20. never fished there but went and had bit of a look a few months back.. saw quite a few mullet and small bream near the weir gates, in only a few feet of water! have also heard reports of mullies throughout the pat.. the mullies would be around more when the gates have just been opened I reckon.. I don't think I'd be eating anything caught there tho, would still be good for a bit of fun imo.. good luck and let us know how you went!
  21. thats pretty cool! I'd be holding a gaff tho ;)I wonder where that was taken, kinda looks like a snapper farm? Wasnt aware they can breed snapper in captivity, lol?
  22. i use a double uni knot with about 10 twists in each for braid to mono leader.. very strong knot imo
  23. yep its yellow.. you liking it so far?
