  1. well when i was crabbing 3 or 4 weeks back everybody was pulling up 25+ tiny sandys in each net and then when you finally got a big bluey there would be maybe 1 or 2 sandys in there, do the bigger blueys scare them away or what?also plenty of rays were cruising around that day, one picked up my net from straight down and took it out 5 metres or so and took the wire that was holding my bait with it!didnt feel like taking baits though!
  2. normally rays will thrash around a bit when you first bring em into shore or the boat but then behave after a minute.their barbs arn't too dangerous unless you dont use common sense and put your feet or hands in the wrong place but as mentioned eaglies have short tails and small barbs so they arn't too dangerous.i dont care if they had 10 barbs id still catch em! ;D ;D ;D
  3. my dream is to catch a 45kg kingy!but who wouldnt :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
  4. if you know how to work a jag i dont think it would matter too much.but colours, size and weight defently have an effect.
  5. my friend caught a good 150kg+ one in stansbury, it had some power in it!
  6. im not sure if carps is a jetty fisherman or not so im just adding on
  7. yeh where would you store 50+kg of shark anyway!im speaking from a local jetty fishermans point of view, us kids that fish semaphore have to carry the catch home so keeping the tail on is very handy.im not sure if carps is a jetty fisherman or not so im just giving my share
  8. yeh dont worry we have tried to teach him :icon_lol:you have to give him some slack, he does go to henley!
  9. yeh but i doubt "pro shark fisherman" can carry home a 100kg shark..
  10. ive often caught salmon that have swallowed my whole plastic and died.if they are undersize i throw them back in and they just float, but if i used that dead fish for bait i would be frowned upon, i dont think thats very fair in my opinion but everybodys entitled to it.
  11. na dont cut their tail off! much easier to carry with it on.sever the spinal cord at the head and cut its head off as it were a fish and it bleeds fine.
  12. ive been catching salmon on pieces of stick, alfoil and just a chunk of a softbait on the hook, rip it across the surface as fast as ya can and they jump at it and hit it hard!
  13. hahahha karma point!although it would be handy, i think your onto something!
  14. ive always just assumed that they would feel pain but i have no degree's and have never properly looked into it
  15. international, of course lloyd would know having 2!
  16. oh well thats handy to know :Dyeh i dont understand the whole red meat or bird product things either but im not fussed id never use chicken even if it was legal cause i know for a fact that fish will attract not only sharks but rays, garfish, tommies, squid and salmon trout.and i have alot more fish laying around than chicken!
  17. ill tell you one thing..I CANT CAST MY TLD 25 FOR SHIT!haha its my ballooning and boat rod, no casting for me!will be great when i go jigging for kingys!
  18. yeh my penn spinfisher 850ssm said it could hold 300 feet of 20lb mono. i ended up with 385m of 20lb mono with spare room still.always get more line than what it says it can take cause the last thing ya want is a half spooled reel!
  19. i know its sad to say but..ive never been to salt creek!!but id use my penn spinfisher 850ssm with 385m of 20lb mono.more than enough for mullies and eaglys! although since you arnt using a leader cause your going for mullies an eagly might tail ya!
  20. im sure your penn reels will hold their own on most of the metro sharks, youll have no trouble from 3-4 foot just drag em in!but if ya want 7-8-9 footers i think you should invest in that TLD 50
