took the big cat for a spin today first one in 6 months and with 200 ltrs of old fuel on board wasnt heading out to far mainly wanted toburn it of so we left nth haven and spun down to hallet cove way and back once back in local waters we threw the crab nets over and sored 6 keepers and a sheet load of babys in 18ft of water also 5 nice big gar around the 30cm to the beak mark and 1 weedy whiting but more importantly fuel is gone and the beast is ready for the upcoming shark and snapper season felt sorry for the crew of a localfishing charter today also it apears the skipper thinks a trip to

seen the most amazing specticle today, i took the family in the tinny up to the blanchtown lock (down side) and witnessed the most amazing thing at any given time there would have easily been 1-2 hundred carp tail walking on the water.. ive never witnessed this before but am planning to head back tommorrow with some surface poppers to see if i can temp a few..i cannot believe there are so many carp in our system and what worries me is are we now with this water also inheriting all the other states carp as much as my kids loved seeing it it was really an eye opener there were some monster carp

it was not all bad then when ya think about it a commited fisherman got a great farewell with a bonus of a good cash return on his stock..good to hear in the end really at least now he can afford al those fishing trips he wants hahahahahaha

def the mash recipie tried it both with and without and the mash works well especially for the kids only dif i have is i add a cup of bread crumbs to the mix, not rolled in it just mix it in works a treat mmmm now i want salmon patties..

well thats true hey could prob just leave it in the shed pretty sure its an iglu out there at the moment anyways the freezer will prob take a week to defrost as well though

k shoulda thought this one through but didnt i have a 200ltr bait freezer and in the bottom it has a shelf the compressor is under,now between this shelf and the edge of the freezer is the exact size of a 10 kilo bag of pillies if you take them out the box (still in the clear bag) but and this is a big but if you wedge them in there when half frozen once fully frozen THEY DO NOT COME BACK OUT and become at 1 with the freezer.now the problem is this what do i do with the rest of the bait while i defrost the freezer to get the bag of pillies out or do i just say bye bye to them and pretend

haha ranger you took my statment wrong,, i was not presuming anyone here to be a greeny or doogooder but i can asure you if you are on any jetty or populated beach catch a ray and proceed to hook it as per the diagrams above they will def come out of the shaddows

mate i say if you wanna use them for bait and its not illegal go for it, its not up to the doo gooders or wanna be greenies to tell you you cant a ray is no diff to a salmon or a tommie or a squid for that matter,if they are the best bait and present you with the best chance of catching the shark of ya dreams then do it.. i dont see how killing a ray quickly and painlessly is any worse than feeding a rubber band through the eyes of a salmon while its still kicking and letting it swim this way for hours on end...cricify me if you wish i dont care its my oppinion
