budget reel choices ?

Recommended Posts

:) Hi everyone and wishing you all a safe and fun christmas.. i am after a few good " bang for bucks " reels for ruggers and the occasional bigger red, boat use and mainly less than 12 meters depth water.and i use 10kg braid. I have heard good things about the following reels and would value comments , shimano sienna 4000, quantum snapshots, phlueger trion , or penn silverados, they seem to be between $50 to $70 approx, ps or any other reels that reprisent great value.. cheers cooki

i got three as they were only $49.95' date=' at bcf south rd, im very happy with the price,[/quote']Great deal, but I'm very angry with BCF still  might have to sit that deal out. Sorry to hi jack your thread, but I hope you don't mind me saying your better off at a local tackle store.I made quite a scene last time I was in a BCF franchise   Sounds like a great little combo for the snapps by the way and congrats on breaking in the Sienna, I haven't used one myself, but appreciate this thread and your feedback on how it went :)

I bought a shimano reel. And although my gear gets used very regularly, for the money I spent, I expect more than 6 weeks! I guess every now and then, ANY brand may have a faulty item, fair enough, but I expect a bit of help from the retailer.... I got nothing but attitude and was basically accused of wrecking it myself. When I was first in asking for advice about my purchase, all they could really do was read the features off the box and unlock the case for me to hold the reels.Anyway, it's more a story about how good the tackle and Tucker guys are. I admitted my sins to her lol and she just said (and I'll never forget this)"don't worry about it mate, I'll have OUR shimano rep sort it out for you". :) "home of the fisherman" "sport fishing scene" "nth haven and st kilda tackle and Tucker""Salisbury dive and tackle"...these are the only places I trust to buy fishing tackle from and I should have never gone elsewhere IMO. Because you need specialist staff to sell specialist gear. Just my little rant. I'm sure BCF are big enough and ugly enough to with stand a spray from little old me. And Accross the range, BCF isn't that cheap anyway.

True SFS for me,I know they will look after me and as a "regular" customer the deals they have given me over the years can't be beaten on the net or by BCF...i still look around when buying gear but SFS will always match the price usually before i even ask.A bit of customer loyalty goes a long way in my experience. cheers brenton
