The mysterious blue glow

Recommended Posts

Think you'd find it was this FHen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioluminescence

More specifically I believe it is Phosphorus released by phytoplankton. I remember when we used to fish Lake Illawarra in NSW we'd go wading for prawns for bait first and there'd always be little blue flicks of phosphorus on top of the waves and around our legs. Pretty cool to see. It happens when the water around something contains phosphorus and is agitated, hence your squid bait glowing blue. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSmJwlvRyHI
