Fishunter86 3 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Share Posted September 27, 2012 Hi all. Last weekend while out in the boat at night, I pulled in one of my squid baits to find it glowing bright blue. Would not glow with light on it, only in the pitch black. Upon dissection of the bait, I found nothing unusual, but then my fingers and knife were glowing too.Any ideas? I remember when we used to fish Lake Illawarra in NSW we'd go wading for prawns for bait first and there'd always be little blue flicks of phosphorus on top of the waves and around our legs. Pretty cool to see. crispy 2 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Share Posted September 27, 2012 i have not seen a squid glow in the dark but when i was posted to far north queensland in the army we would see the fireflys in the jungle at night time ,like floating flashing lights we also used to catch horse flies and stick a blade of pampas grass up there claka and let em go that was something to fill in the time for a laugh whyallabrad 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Used to create havoc when we were trying to sneak up on a boat underwater in the dark, bloody great greeny blue trail underwater.
