Tinker 1,645
Good value for money, especially if it will be a spare combo that your family can use.You would be paying $50 for a Shimano Sienna reel alone, then another $60-70 for a graphite rod.Where is this on sale? Poppa Snake 1,399
thanx Tinker, that's what I was thinking.Ray's Outdoors
Tinker 1,645
Might have to get down to Rays and get one as a spare myself.Careful buying lures from Rays, my spinnerbaits fell apart before I could use them. Del
Kuerschie 2,309
I would suggest to have a look at BCF's latest catalogue. Can get a Sienna plus the same Shimano sonic pro rods for the same price. I have the Sienna as a backup reel and it's a good budget family-type reel. You also get a can cooler bag with it Poppa Snake, trihull and Tinker

Poppa Snake 1,399
not sure Shimmy, was hoping to go BCF tonight but they shut at 5:30 to suss out.Is the Sienna better than the Aernos?
Tinker 1,645
According to the Shimano 2013 catalogue, the Aernos FA is two levels above the Sienna FD, however the Aernos reel in the catalogue looks quite different to the one advertised in the Rays sale.Might be best to suss it out with the staff at BCF, who seem to understand the products they sell better than the Ray's Outdoors staff.Hope I haven't made it even more confusing for you Poppa Snake.Steve Poppa Snake

Kuerschie 2,309
The Shimano Aernos FA is a different reel from the Aernos advertised. The one advertised is the Aernos XT, a similar budget reel to the Sienna. The Sienna however has more bearings (+1) and is differently shaped. The Sienna has similar shaping to the sedona and cazna, other budget reels. The rods that are available are as follows:1. http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Shimano-Sonic-Pro-Spin-Rod-3-5kg-662SP.aspx?pid=121785&variant=true#Combo - 3-5kg, 6'6" = general combo2. http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Shimano-Sonic-Pro-Spin-Rod-7-2-4kg-2-Piece.aspx?pid=121786&variant=true#Combo - 2-4kg, 7' = bream and whiting3. http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Shimano-Sonic-Pro-Spin-Rod-7-3-6-8kg-2-Piece.aspx?pid=168119&variant=true#Combo - 7'6", 5-8kg = snapper ShimsMan, Poppa Snake and Tinker
ShimsMan 1
the 7' 2-4kg looks nice, kinda reminds me of the raider combo rod.Had one and it was a great rod until it met with a car door
Just Me 0
Hey Poops, in the BCF catalogue there is a solstace/catana combo for $99. Spend the extra 30 bucks mate it's a great combo.Either way both will be good. Poppa Snake
Cal 480
Be careful with the sienna, feel like a nice little reel but hook a big carp ect that runs hard in shallow water and watch the thing that makes the drag make a clicking sound disintergrate, and its non replacable.Be fine for whiting ect though.
