  2. Here ya go mate' date=' fixed it right up for ya :silly: Seriously, whats wrong with that picture? looks alright to me. Maybe a little bit bright on the fish is all.
  3. Post up a pic, most likely it can be improved dramatically with software like PhotoShop or even lightroom.
  4. Yeah mate 4lt float and a tag with your details if you plan on leaving them unattended. Just checked and you need to stay within 50m otherwise they are 'unattended'.
  5. Use old milk bottles, coolant bottles etc any big plastic container. You only need the regulation sized floats and tags if the nets are unattended. This means you need to stay close to your nets, not sure if there is a distance rule, but you'll likely stay within a couple hundred metres anyway. You are talking about crabbing from a boat right?
  6. I use a green reusable shopping bag thing
  7. it's probably too late but...they spit it out because they are sucking in clean water and not sitting in sand.cockles are filter feeders, so they suck in and spit out a lot of water in order to get a feed.they'll also stick their little foot out and move around in the bucket, once you have them in there purging, come back in like 5-10mins and you'll see them all with their siphon things sticking out and moving around etc.so the sand comes out because 1. they are sucking in and spitting out clean water and 2. their shell is open and they are moving around in clean water.I don't bother with ice,
  8. And they're like the energizer bunny, just keep going and going.
  9. plenty of sand crabs too, had one bite my finger last time I went digging in a bit deeper water.have also had something swim up between my legs when i was kneeling and digging in deeper water, can tell you I was up in a flash and walking on water too haha
  10. will be plenty left and yes you can just rock up and start digging holes :)its a good fun day out, and this time of year you won't freeze your own cockles off :silly:
  11. Q. What can I use to collect pipi? Lucky fisheries weren't there, don't see 'dog' on the permitted devices list :silly: :pWell done, its good fun and the young ones love it. Good slave labour too
  12. What was your technique aff? I found them to be a little deeper than normal and just dug them up by hand letting the wave action erode my dug hole exposing more cockles. I literally dug up thousands of the buggers, a lot of them are undersize. The good old cockle shuffle just doesn't do it for me, I'm a digger
  13. Breambo, I was eluding to the possibility of a total possession limit, say per car, similar to a boat limit being 3x bag limit.Otherwise you'll have every tom dick and harry loading up the Torago with 7 passengers and collecting their 2,400 cockles. As it stands, there is nothing wrong with doing this and many would argue that its their right etc etc. But seriously, how many people need that many cockles? even if you were eating them for a family feast, thats like over 25kg of cockles... or over 50 bags of bait.I went today with the missus and her friend, who both come fishing with me, and we c
  14. Cape Catastrophe is south of Pt Lincoln. Last time I checked, Goolwa was far to the east of that http://www.pir.sa.gov.au/fisheries/recreational_fishing/closures/closed_areas/information_sheet_on_pipi_fishing_in_south_australiaQ. How many pipi can I take?
  15. right out in front of the car park don't even have to go into the water, just dig at the edge.
  16. be pointless taking undersize cockles considering the legal size ones are so easy to come by at the moment. the bigger worry would be people taking over their limit.glad to say I didn't see anyone taking over their limit, but its a little pointless when you can have wives and family members tag along for a huge bag limit... possession limits anyone??
  17. Can confirm that they are indeed everywhere, made it very easy to get my limit in just over an hour. Plenty of bait for the next few months and well worth the trip.Tons of people down there today right down the beach.
  18. I like the nearest tackle store idea. There's been some good ideas come from this thread and I thank everyone for their input. Keep it up :)Hardest part is going to be putting it all together in a coherent way, keeping info up to date etc.I noticed the other day a Windows phone app written by the QLD Gov, for QLD only.http://www.windowsphone.com/en-AU/apps/144e47f5-17a3-493c-a96c-c5f5bd55fdf0looks alright.. but I also read that stats are tracked by the Gov on catches etc... hmm. This thing is turning into a beast and I'm yet to write a single line of code. To be honest I've been ultra slack and

  22. fair enough. shouldn't be too hard to put something together. i'm surprised that other apps don't have good features to get you back to marks... surely there is a gps plotter app?also from what i've seen, the phone gps isn't too flash and it absolutely chews through your battery.but yeah, still working on my other stuff at the moment, so probably be a while until i even really start to look at this. if you can think of anything else you'd like to see in an app, let me know.
  23. This is a good topic coz I've been considering what to sort out for the boat.At the moment I have a plano tacklebox and multiple backpacks with stuff everywhere! :)I am leaning towards something with pull out trays and makes sense one tray for whiting stuff etc, but do I go a tackle bag or a tackle box... decisions decisions.
  24. Seems it is the same set of pics. I only got this in an email the other day, but its months old, maybe longer.
  25. This came through on an email.Makes me wish I was north of Ballera with a shovel
