thats the only downside to it... it is really deep deep water... caught all the reddies in the corners where the water was shallower...

i love catching mullies have for a few years now.. neva caught a snapps...only because i dnt have a boat or had a chance to.. but one day i would love to catch a big RED.. but then i have caught kingies around the 8-10kg mark when i was a youngin and love that even more...i think they all hold a place in all fishos mind to tick off that checklist in your mind and those few fish would b on every fishos to catch list...

ive hit the ards jetty and area hard for crabs this summer... its deff on the decline.. i reckon they hae spawned later and will take a bit longer tp get the more legal crabs... id try wallaroo myself and surrounding beaches raking for them...however Its ardrossan for me this weekend for one reason only..

the simple fact for me is i dont run braid in the surf... if it gets tangled on weed or big windknots while u cast out u have the chance of losing a fair few dollars in braid.. also the sea bed if it has shellgrit and a rough bottom will wear down .. i have always use mono in surf... but thats just me...

u summed it up in one finatic ive dont work in the tackle industry but im apart of the furniture of anglers choice for years and seeing the amount of times that the guys down there fish it is minute.... and i myself was going to open up a tackle business... but after talking with the guys down there and seeing it 1st hand they prob only fish a handful times a year thats if they get offered charter days or what not. that and the long hours that they do do... dont get me wrong id love to do it and love dealing with customers and doing the hard yards put if i put it into reality ill never get to

agree with spotter 100% its amazing how many ppl thnk that working in the tackle industry is all playing wit tackle and going fishing....

i use the rule of thumb of the length of my rod that im using but i think it varys depending on peoples liking and the set up they use etc... but general rule of thumb for me is the length of my rod will be the length of my leader..
