Panga got a reaction from Meppstas in It's a bit quiet on here, anyone fishing or is everyone hibernating?
I got half way through my post on my trip to FNQ and lost it while transferring photos.
    Will try again today.

Went for a drive yesterday and had a great tour of the dams and property, thanks Craig, hope to see things like this soon.

My earlier post regarding "fish hotels" got me thinking about some materials we have at work that regularly go to landfill so I arranged some of the pieces, took some pics and sent them to Craig, we had a bit of a chat about it and I dropped off the first load yesterday. He is away with work at the moment but will be giving us an update soon. The dam has a lot of potential, hopefully the weather co-operates and we do not get any extreme events in the next couple of years.

    Hey Craig,

Great to see you have got some fish in and good to hear that they are swimming around nosing the surface, sound like you have some happy fish. Might pay to go down to your pond in the morning and following mornings (if your not at work) to check out if the see if the fish are swiming right on/breaking the surface, the fish may school up so that would help to spot them. Let me know if they are. Also, check to see if cormorants are drying their wings in the nearby trees. Just show a bit of presence if they are. With those massive daphnia, your fish should be putting on some weight soon. Keep us updated about your fish, cheers

That's come up a treat wilda, those 150 mm juvenile rainbows will grow quickly in there too, they'll fatten up nicely over the next two years..

Make sure you have a solid mess grid at the overflow to stop them going over if & when it fills and spills..

    cheers

Feel free to check out the other videos if you are so inclined.  Meggs

Really well done KS (Allan)  Great report with photos. You have set the bar high.

A HUGE thanks to the sponsors and management for the effort all have put in.

Hope this continues every month as I want to get out fishing. (desperately) Just need crew and weather.

Bloodworm run and winter whiting coming very soon so I will be coming out of hibernation as of next week.

Also going to Cairns at the end of the end of the month fishing with Joy and will take camera and not pad to capture wins and failure's. Have access to brother in-law's  6.4 mtr alloy set up with 2 x 90hp motors and electric motor rigged up to his GPS so no anchoring required in 300' + water.
But having said that "there's no place like home" so I can appreciate the KG's, snapper and squid we have in our great state which is the best IMO.

    Cheers
