Looks like you had a ball, Alex
Great video too
-
Tried it out yesterday - nice -
I'll still keep using the Plat' as well, it's does the job too well to ditch just yet
-
Congrat's on both accounts, SB

Needed new line for the Aird 1000's spare spool, as the 2LB Plat' Super has gone on the Tica 500
Suprisingly the Tica 500 holds same amount as the Aird 1000 ... tho' it does have a deeper spool
Was going to get Sunline 4 strand, but for an extra $10, got the Super PE8 6LB instead.
To what I have already, this stuff looks & feels awesome - even tho' they admit to not being the thinnest,
it's thinner - or just rounder ? - than anything I'm accustomed to ... looks like I won't be satisfied till all my reels are spooled with it it
I've got 10LB Fireline on Penn 260 Slammer ... don't even use it, be good for cutting cheese tho'
8LB Plat' Super on Symetre 2500
4LB Plat' Super on other Aird 1000 spool
I tried Sunline Sniper 2LB on the Tica 500, only lasted 2 sessions with it
- managed much better when it had Trilene 2LB mono on it
-
I hadn't seen that video before, Chris ... good one
Familiar territory

I've had a look at a couple of those ads, they're from Japan, but secondhand
-
have you got a link to the coastwatch video?
No, haven't, but'd be cool to find it
I didn't know where the paper was stashed, Mrs. M. found it earlier tonight
Might be able to find it now that I've got the date ?
photoshoppednah, Gimped just hiding surname -
Mully that got me in the running for fish of the month, at local tackle shop, got beaten by 100 grams or so
But cool all the same, getting it in the local rag. They gave me a heap of ice to keep fresh overnight & next day brought it back
& got on 'Ken Brown's Coast Watch' TV show with it
Was caught in Maroochy river at Bli Bli, live mullet, Daiwa rod,15lb Maxima mono on Shimano 4500 baitrunner

oops ... it's Azusa
-
I'll have a shot ... anything to do with barometric pressure ?
-
Tried for redfin wih SPs & HBs, Fri/Sat arvo's
... not a touch
-
a few cranks I've bought recently, some perch patterns may suit redfin more so than bream
but may work in the Coorong too? I like the clear ones for clean water, as back in QLD & having a cast net
I caught a lot of glassy perchlets, which fished live, nailed heaps of bream - they're seen in aquarium shops as feeders
& are transparent 40 -70mm on average
-
I think they do better if they're dead, preserved in metho, rather than freezing
- it toughens them up, but it's rather cruel to do if they're still alive
There's also seaweed worms, can be found down where the seaweed is composting
I've found some tubeworms to be too flimsy & fall apart when trying to get 'em on the hook

Not sure if you do it already or not, but a good bit of advice I got from a mate was to take the split rings off the front of the lures and attach the lure to your line using a rapala or loop knot. I've noticed since doing that that the lures swim straighter and a lot nicer, and you have one less hunk of metal on the lure (my suspending HB's actually suspend now)
I've tried that using a KREH loop, but found sometimes fouled with the front treble, as I'm not tying them small enough
I'm going to try a solid ring to the split ring & just tie a uni or locked blood knot to the solid ring, see how that goes
that might make them drop nose first tho' I suppose

Meh, heard they arent overly great and you will never beat the crankas or marukyus
Ooo they are available now then? Did look the goods in the promo shots but never actually seen them. The Isomes are certainly pretty good.
Whereabouts can you get them?
There's a few on EBAY, I might get some,
have got some Isome worms to try

Been busy on the dinghy project where I can, lately. Haven't chased redfin or carp, but a few weeks ago
tried Mundoo & Beacon 19 jetties with SP grubs, HB minnows & small metals for STs. Too much weed to do any good,
but caught first ST on minnow at Mundoo & first ST on grub at B19, none yet on metals, as dense rafts of weed got in the way on
all 3 occasions. Still worthwhile for those two firsts, tho'
