  1. Great vid- I watched it on YouTube when you first posted it up.The creek looks nice
  2. Check the daiwa iprimi on their site. Out in July- designed for trout, shortest is 6'2" but that is a good tight area length. I preferred my 6'6" to my 5'5" as it was easier to reach around trees and guide fish around snags.
  3. My goal:Catch and LAND the B*STARD trout that I have hooked and dropped no less than three times. I swear it stops, turns and laughs at me each time    All I want is a photo!
  4. Cool! That would have been a nice surprise.... I take my little ones to that spot for a carp fish every now and then, nice and safe. Decent sized carp too! What you get it on mate?
  5. Tossing up either getting a factory made OR buying the Sage blank and getting Rob to practice his rod building skills with it! Ha ha ha. Gotta ditch the P.O.S. line and get something decent for it too.I'd go with the factory build for sure  What line did they send you' date=' get yourself a RIO LT DT3F line mate' date=' suits the Sage's delicacy beautifully. Cheers Dazz[/quote''] The line is a no-name generic one that feels worse than the one that came with my wife's $10 reel :-) I have already ordered that exact line through eBay :-) however the rod is a few weeks away- prob going to
  6. You read my mind there mate!Tossing up either getting a factory made OR buying the Sage blank and getting Rob to practice his rod building skills with it! Ha ha ha. Gotta ditch the P.O.S. line and get something decent for it too.
  7. Got this in the mail today, luckily ordered just before the Aussie dollar dropped below parity again.Gonna set her up with a nice 3 weight rod to use in battle against the finicky trout that live down the end of my street. These fish love to laugh at my hard and soft lure offerings whilst they casually sip bugs off the surface near my feet..... Hopefully a tiny dry or nymph will do the trick. Limited edition brown trout Ross Evolution LT SE.... Can't wait to try it out. :woohoo: :woohoo:
  8. Very noice mud monster mate, well done!
  9. Had none until Good Friday last year.... I fell down a cliff whilst fishing (was walking back home on a slippery path) about 10 minutes walk from my house. Ended up poised on the edge of a second drop off and everytime I moved (to try and stop the profuse bleeding from my leg) I slid a little bit further toward another long fall. Took 50 minutes for emergency crews to find me/arrive and I then required helicopter retrieval as there was absolutely no other way to get me out. had the CFS, MFS, police, abulance, Helicopter and about four news crews come.Ended up destroying my right ankle, cut my
  10. awesome fly mate! That is one very well endowed prawn
  11. Great vid as always mate, and excellent fish!!Well done. Looks like some chunky reddies are on the chew at the moment.
  12. ha ha ha, I read that as you could NAIL it to.... I am sure a lot of shark fishos would prefer that option
  13. Nice fish mate! You still fishing 4lb?
  14. Get a 2506 spool for that and it would be an awesome HB reel. The finesse spools also have better suited, ie lighter, drag setups. The wider diameter spool enables line to easily strip from reel.
  15. Ha ha ha, saw you just bought one.... to late again BR!
  16. R&A's have the Daiwa Heartland 2000/2500/3000s on clearance for $199=> these were $330ish, same body as Sol, 7 CRBB's, nice matt black colour, comes with spare spool.....
  17. Very commonly kept here in sa. Either an escapee or release.
  18. Hard to tell, but looks like an Eastern Water Dragon. Not local.
