  1. Oops didn't see this post was 2 pages haha.
  2. Yeah mate, surf life saving club and a small car park further north from there near the big round a bout. There is also a dead end near the boat ramp rocks where you can park, I think the street is anaconda drive? Not 100% on the name. The walk from the surf club isn't as far as it looks on google.
  3. I use 4/0 and 6/0 circles lose the small hooks to big fish sometime though, but can get em back when ya gut em
  4. Not really a catch, but a pod of dolphins went past the back of the boat once and took my yozuri but pretty much spat it out strait away. Another time I was down second valley on the jetty and pulled up a weird looking star fish. Apparently it was a 'sea star'
  5. I do it the same as jagger too, camp stove and an old pot. Simple as
  6. Those pesky port Jackson's are more of a pain then the crabs I reckon!
  7. Went out off semaphore to fetch some crabs this evening, ended up with 13 bluey's in 2 hours 3 of which where monsters, biggest going 66cm from claw to claw. I'll try post a pic if it doesn't work I'll try again tomorrow. Cheers bgr
  8. Yeah I know what ya mean mate I got a 9 week old kitten that attacks anything that moves
  9. Haha yeah I got plenty of room in my yard. Still might cut the hook off though just incase the dog goes for it.
  10. Yeah 10lb braid I've got on it. Might have to chuck a few around the back yard to get it down pat before I go out and look like an outright twat, again! Cheers for all the tips fellas, much appreciated
  11. I think from memory I have 10lb. Originally used it for whiting. So if I was to fill it with 3 or 4lb braid what lb leader should I use? And how long?
  12. Hey guys, this might be a bit of a dumb question and probably answered a million times before. But how do you cast very light weighted soft plastics more then 5metres? I have a 7ft light rod with a daiwa crossfire 2000 reel, not the most expensive rig but will it do the job?
  13. Glad whiting is on that list unfortunately I don't do much freshwater fishing
  14. Hey guys, I've had a worm farm out the back for ages now, FULL of tiger worms. I know ya can use em as bait but what fish love em most?
  15. Cheers heaps for all the input guys, the alveys is all cleaned up a shmicko, just like a bought one. I think I might wait till the weekend to have a go on the Abu, it's weird it winds then it gets to one spot and it's tight. It's actually a 7000c Wahoo, would this be a good shark reel once it's up an goin properly?
  16. Yeah I've heard those alveys are pretty tough. What about the Abu? It's pretty sticky when ya reel it. Should I pull it apart or what?
  17. Hey fellas. Was helping the grandmother in law today clear out her shed. She said I could take what I wanted and spotted these 2 reels. They seem a bit stiff because they've been covered in dust for many years. Would it be hard to pull em apart and grease em up or would it even be worth it?
  18. Yeah aff, in the last half hour I pulled about 50 big ones from doing the cockle dance. Couldn't find any under 45 mm if I tried.
  19. Yeah I think the pipi population would only just win on that test
  20. I headed down goolwa beach today too, so much for the new restrictions on where you get them from and dogs on leash. Every dog I saw was off the leash, one dog was less then a metre from gettin run over by the 4x4 in front of us on the way back. Anyway ended up with 180 odd cockles in 2 and a bit hours. Was a cracker day.
  21. Yeah I rang the council down there, kingsley is spot on with the info. They don't specify how long the leash can be tho I got some pretty long rope.
  22. Haha, yeah crispy. My dog would be the same. No way I would take him off the leash. Cheers guys. I'll definitely give em buzz
  23. I'll be heading down there on the weekend with the family. Do any of you guys know if dogs are allowed on the beach?
