  4. Things on top of the roof are not considered dangerous during an accident as they will not be the first point of impact, this is on vans and 4wd's only, sedans and stationwagons that the pipes are at head height they two are not allowed to extend past the front or rear of the car.
  5. Next door neighbour used to work at Regency inspection centre Rocknev, so I hope hes a trustworthy source lol!
  6. Regarding the legalities of rod holders. So long as they are not sticking out infront of the bullbar they are legal. If they can be considered the first point of contact for any accidents they are illegal.

  10. Since so many will read this Im going to put this request here lol..Im in metro adelaide and have no access to a boat. Im about to go on several weeks holidays and intend on filling alot of this time fishing, soooWhere can I catch good sized snapper near Adelaide, I can travell but have heard mixed reports about wallaroo and ardrossan. Outer harbour people seem to say they catch them, then others say they have never seen them caught.Obviously ill be shore based so any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!
  11. More importantly if fish feel pain, would you stop fishing??Blantant cruelty to any animal shouldnt be allowed but we all eat meat, I think breeding an animal in a small area so that it may be killed and eaten is alot worse than catching a few fish that you will eat or release..they are wild and have a chance. If you look at animals in general I would say the reaction a fish gives when your pulling a hook is more on the sensation of being pulled..they do not spasm uncontrollably like a dog will if you did the same thing (no I didnt try this on my dog)
  12. I will probaly never try to build a rod, im to unmotivated and dont have the best patience with fiddly things anymore...In saying this I do like to read the Rod building posts and see what people have come up with. So the point for my post..Any chance mods that we could have a Rod Building topic rather than these going in several locations??

  16. Is this from the same scientists who in the 80's warned us of Global cooling, then the last few years told us the earth had being heating for the last 100 years, meaning the 80's paranoia must have been a huge cold blip??Sorry but while all industries should be working to restore natural stocks the panick method they use is rediculous.

  20. Well I want to know what you were using lol. I agree people will take advantage of it, but I dont think many of the people on this site would be them. After watching a mates dad as a kid bring in 10cm whiting I got over ppl who over fish, or catch undersized!

  22. Just looked into it then, seems its a Conolon Spiraflex, Custom line, model 62.140. I can find info on Conolon but its mostly fly fishing rods..this is a 12ft surf rod lol. Being that my grandads a complete tight arse I find it hard he would have had it made for him. Sadly he has no idea where or what it is either..useful lol.

  24. Just wondering if you can give me a hint on putting line onto the Alvey, I usually leave the line in a bucket of water for 10mins before putting it on by threading it through my fingers. Will this put the line on tight enough or is there a better method?
