  1. Biggest I have landed here is a 52cm ( I have heard whispers of bigger and I believe it - but you know... photo's or it didn't happen right ? ) But the section of the coorong that I fish over 40cm is the norm more so than the exception.

Always keen to take crew for a flick around my area.

As long as your cool and don't go bringing heaps of mates down with you the next weekend B)

  2. Much appreciated Ale - this place rocks

Ill get in touch with him now.

( is he a member here Ale or should i give him a bell at BCF ? )\

I live at goolwa BTW.... If they don't cost much and are sold at BCF I'd probably head to noarlunga. What about that tackle shop at pt.elliot ? They have a good store ?

  3. Was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where I can obtain a replacement screw for my stradic fj 2500 ?

The screw connecting the handle to the reel came loose and vanished into the depths last fishing mission.

Loving the reel... it is has a beautiful feel. What do people think about a little bit of loktite on the thread to stop this from happening again.

And as a sidethought would this maybe be covered under warranty ? The reel was bought from BCF less than 6 months ago.

  4. I found heaps of models that dump bait online, but none that were self righting, submersible and saltwater proof. Are we using a different search engine or something Archer ?? Thanks heaps for that mate, ill go check those links out now.

  5. Anything that will do the job Kingsley. Looks like the contiki would cut the mustard but I can't seem to find a vendor for them either.Very surprised that with the popularity of surf fishing in Oz that we dont have something available here. A good niche market for someone with the skills and know-how to exploit. Hopefully someone here can steer me in the right direction :)

  6. Im living down Goolwa and am gearing up for the upcoming mulloway run ( can't wait :D )anyway, I found this youtube video of this remote controlled surf boat that could drop my baits out way past the breakers at the mouth without me having to wade out to my chest to cast half the distance. Problem is that i cant find anywhere to purchase them through the net !!!! It's frustrating the s&%t out of me. Has anyone seen them or had any experience with them ??? I want one real bad.here is the link to the video of one of these lil' puppies in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8Vf4ucM_Y8help me.... pleeease :)

  7. we were just using 2 longshanks on a paternoster rig ( about 12 pound braid and 5-6 pound leader - ( not sure without going out to check the tacklebox actually. just a couple of amateurs getting lucky with a few big ones )) . We had cockles, prawns, squid and pillies but the cockles seemed to be the favourite bait the last week or so. I expect them to be around in big numbers until the next big freshwater release from the barrages. Hopefully I can up him a cm or two tomorrow !!

  8. been getting a megaload of bream the last few days down the coorong. Averaging 10- 15 a session. Here is the best for this year at 48.5cm ( lost a few suspected as being bigger and many around the 40cm mark ) Last year i managed a 52cm and am yet to beat it.Bit of a horse hey ? Only problem is my mate caught this one and not me !!! took him to my secret spot and he beats my PB for this year by a cm .. oh well. This is the photo of him and his monster bream.1015773_483804368367439_361376361_o.jpg

  9. last night i went and fshed perry's bend at the onk after the stompa comp had winded down. i was using some fresh mullet and squid from brownies fish n chip shop. He also gave me some offal that i was chucking in as burley. Anyway i got spiked by a fish fn around the first knuckle joint in my thumb. I woke up this morning..... my whole thumb is swollen like its about to burst. It feels red hot and the pain and swelling is moving down nto my hand and is ****ing excruciating. I have disinfected the whole area and also have a small cut at the top of my thumb that i cant seem to clean out. :( :pinch: Its scaring the shit out of me. Has anyone experienced this and do i need to go to hospital ??? any info or advice is greatly appreciated.thanks in advance - tippo

  10. i have been out a fair bit snake... but only within a 5-6 km radius of o'sullies and even though i had the best night snapper wise i have ever had last week, other than that, there has been no consistency or anything else overly special to report about. heard of a few being pulled from the rig and the shoals tonight and a few here and there locally plus those we have read about on the forums, but bar that one magic night, personally, i haven't been able to pull a trick !So basically if i had have decided to stay in that one night... i would be calling it the worst season i have seen so far but that is far from conclusive !.. as for the spot x rarara, are there any spot x's left close to metro anyway ? seems to me the hushhush spots anywhere near coohee of a boatramp are all pretty well known these days !?

  11. burley cannons ... lol.. tuna log in the face  :cheer: :woohoo: hey softy will let ya know when i hit the k1 vineyards again.. can tag along if ya want.. ive never caught any monsters there.. good fun though. i think the dam out the front of the office and cellar door holds some good ones but i only got the go ahead to fish the dams further back in the vineyard.

  12. id be taking my slingshot with me... perfectly legal to posess ( legal to own without a licence anyway ) i believe and quite accurate with a wrist mount !!!!!!!!!!!!!! only go for the spotlight of course... wouldnt dream of sconning one in the back of the head with a decent splitshot ;)

  13. no way man... not betting against everyone on strike n hook... wouldnt stand a chance, im nothing but a noob on here inexperienced at chasing the mulloway. ( only one legal from the onk ) but lures counts me out... too much effort for me... especially with mullies ( unless im in the estuaries). ill place a bet with you though... no cheating for sure.. you got the experience and the spots... my only advantage might be the amount of spare time i got being currently outta work ;) itll be all hands on dex 4 me... B) If i take the bet your offering i may as well pass over the cash now. ill be hitting geues and the hole... and salt creek and the foot of the peninsula... maybe near west coast too. probably run into ya out there mate. always keen ta tag along anytime ya planning a mission man... got me own 4wd. happy to go a 100 but a friendly comp would be just as good.

  14. reckon your moneys safe snake.. just jokin round buddy. plenty of better chances elsewhere. have never even fished the lakes chief. hows about a bet on who can land the biggest mully this next year.... reckon the odds are squarely in your favour there !!! you'd obviously stoked to take the cash yeah ?

  15. dont know if this photo will work... ( new to the site ) supposedly over 90 kilos... somewhere in south africa.... i pulled it from a mulloway group page on facebook... in my opinion it has to be photoshopped.. here is the link to the page if it doesnt show.... i have the mulloway madness now... it is my life mission to break the 60 pound mark.. anyway here is the link. carzy if it is legit ...... http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/group.php?gid=5050979779 it is the fish in the profile picture... to view it dont click the link you have to include the rest of the url..
