  2. been out wide in Ricksters crusher a coupla times now and loved it even bagged out on whiting which locally these dayz is rare in itself you dont seem to get as many bangs and crashes that come with most tinnies due to the shape of the hull he's done a few mods to his which i think make it even better as well cheers 4THA
  3. depending on the species youre targeting mate but anything in our gulf's shouldnt trouble it i have a fj 4000 and love it to bitz handles the big snapper with ease and is small enough for my whiting as well cheers 4THA

  6. In my experience it's not that good to just run a reel under the tap' date=' a heavy flow of water will often drive sand' date=' salt and water into the reel where you don't want it. It can also wash away the oil in your bearings and levelwind gear, plus the old fibre washer drags on Abus perform very poorly when wet. I use one of those multi spray hose nozzles on the "mist" setting and just give the reel a very light spray after a session to get rid of sand or salt. Another good trick is to tighten the drag all the way when washing down to keep water out of the drag system, just don't forget

  11. next time you are at your local tackle shop (or at sportfishing scene speak to Darren/ MR.Balls )ask them for some carbontex drag washers for it as well Moggy23 & HSVLS19 have both upgraded theirs and now the drag pulls off ultra smooth cheers 4THA
  12. what a cracking way to get your first big red bjorn those sessions sure do put the whole scheme of being addicted to fishing in perspective you will jump at every opportunity that comes your way now, wanting to get that feeling back sure you will have doughnut sessions like we all do but when ya get those mental every bait gets smashed sessions you can barely explain to people it makes the big zero sessions all tha more sweeter congrats and enjoy your feed and well done on big red & uhf for takin ya out cheers for the pics, vid and report 4THA

  14. when berkley released there range of power bait sp's some time back now a mate of mine told me i had to have a session with him chasin bream near the west lakes outlet, he's told me nearly a fish a cast :ohmy: hmmm, really ok what the heck.i went to sportfishing scene purchased a berkley dropshot, a shimano sienna 2500 and yatesy spooled it with some 2kg line, an assortment of sp's and jig heads were purchased and away we went within the first few cast we were into bream catching and releasing one after another with litterally a fish a cast and having such a light outfit this was my new bes

  17. havnt got any tips for taking photo's mate just be wary of those water proof covers as i had one before and it was fine in the water but i left the cover on in my shed and the condensation ended up killing it so just remember to take it off or crack the seal on it to stop the condensation cheers 4THA

  20. the idea with the fast sinking is so the squid get a visual glimpse of it going through the water if you read through some of the dedicated squid forums its all about flashing and "jerking" to get there attention if ya ever seen the way the comp guys do it you'd be like wtf it's quite funny to watch they cast out then jerk like crazy cheers 4THA

  22. about a month ago moggy23, HSVLS19 & myself had one of those sessions that was bananas on the snaps we would have hooked around 30 fish easily, out of all of them we had 3 big ones 90cm + gut hooked and 8 smaller ones gut hooked all using single 6/0 & 8/0 circles, we were surprised to end up with that many knowing how good the lip hook rate is with them it was a little dissapointing not being able to return more but all have been eaten now atleast cheers 4THA
