  1. Fishing this morning when a big girl came and scared the fish away :cheer:
  2. Good timing mate, was just thinking I need.to get my act together for DT this year.I signed up and stuffed up last year. Is WARPIGS still on your list mate? Otherwise I'll go.2nd reserve and wait and see. Will definitely be sorted this year, but the strikehook league would be a good bonus
  3. Perfect! Snapper dont care. These were caught inside the outerharbour walls on re frozen tommies;
  4. Okay then. Here's what you do.Catch all your tommies. Then take them to the very end of outer harbor rocks and cast as far out into the channel as you can (with your Tommie for bait). If you have more time, drive to wallaroo jetty, walk as far to the end as you are allowed (cast your Tommie).Night time rough weather will be best, but daytime calm weather will do.If you get snapped off, go buy heavier line ;)Case closed, best of luck mate, and remember our reports page to post your snapper pics Cheers
  5. In every way, what you are asking is what every fisho on here would love to know ;)Simply there is no best place to go and catch big fish (I assume landbased). Most fishos have their own idea of best places, and most are different :)Here is what you need to ask yourself; What fish do you want to catch?Do you want just a big fat ray?Do you want to catch a Snapper?A mulloway?A kingfish?Give yourself a goal. What about trying to get a nice big legal Bream?Once you know what you want to catch, google it, do a search on here create a thread.Failing that. If you catch a Tommie, stick a big hook thr
  6. My favourite type of fishing is the humble tinny trip.95% of the time searching the estuaries for Bream and school mulloway. It's just so much fun being close to the water opening up the two stoke and swerving through the salt.I love the tranquility of a dawn fish:5% snapper time:The joys of an early morning session at outer harbor:The occasional success of light line schoolie And of course the very special moments when something takes yer bait and runs, turning the tinnie at right angles when you up the drag But of course ALL fishing rules, and a solo bream session in the tinny or off the ro
  7. Well that was bloody ridiculously super awesome !!!By favourite bit was you letting the others have a go, then saying 'nah, bugger it ' :laugh:Thats fair enough man, I know exactly what you mean hey. anyway I reckon you liked the only one who knew what they were doin with a rod n reel lol, that poor young fella was a-strugglin.That footage at the end is killa, mainly because your winding the reel with yer right hand :ohmy: never seen you do that before!!I could go on and on mate, definitely worth the wait to see that cool underwater stuff and the size of them tuna :)Loved it and am heaps jeal

    THE FUNK!

    The Mrs suspected a dead mouse on Monday :ohmy:Tuesday she decided the garbage bins were on the nose.Wednesday she told me to check the carport for a dead possum or Rat.Pfft whatever, I'll get around to it.Home from work after Thursdays heat and the stench had escalated to life threatening proportions!!! CODE RED the back of the house was in lockdown.Mrs went to the shops and I got off my ass to see what the fuss was about ;)Into the carport and a shot of adrenalin went through me as I saw the top of my white bucket in the boat!Ahhh shit!!! This was gunna be wrong in ten types of ways.Overwhel
  10. Yeah del, I lived and surfed and fished south West and it's brilliant area. The break.at Margarets is brilliant but injidup carpark and three bears has to be the best surf in Australia. Man I miss it, im.too heavy these days, would need a big mal to.get me.up.haha.Seen heaps of tiger sharks out there, and in my opinion they are way more dangerous and likely responsible for a lot of deaths attributed to whites. The tigers are feisty and will take a chunk out of anything!!!! They are the buggers munching on outboard and. And transoms and spinning boats around by their burley bags Like the ot

  12. Thanks waxxy.Im taking the tinny now too. Good to carry the gear down there too ;)Is sugars easy to get to from hindmarsh island? im thinking of building sand castles and catching little mullies
  13. Bwahahaha and after you and that filthy southern mate of yours soiled the pristine backwaters of the mighty port river last Sunday @ thanks again for the advice Bricks
  14. Well , think it's best I don't take the boat as it's unfamiliar water to take my little girl. Thanks very much bricks, appreciate the help. And cheers for the offer of your coorong knowledge ale... One day I'll do a proper adventure there (with you as guide aye . Hope your little one is happy healthy and sleeping well.)
  15. Many many thanks. I've been checking some maps and it looks better than perhaps I thought.Im ashamed at how little I know about this state :(Will now go and convince the chief that the tinny is a clever idea ;)But hey, that carp fishing with the kids sounds really good ! Same same going for a salt water wade
  16. Don't get out much, so figured I would take the family out Camping for a good airing.Terrible time of year for last minute bookings haha, but Hindmarsh Island has some camp grounds / caravan park, so figured that sounds good :)Question really is what are the civilized land based spots like?? Any good bream/salmon spots??Also half considering taking the tinny for a little putt putt with the kids... worth it?Any other family friendly tips would great to here about... Any general bush walking fun shenanigans and or swimming and general fishing.Filling me soda stream bottles, putting long necks of

  18. I dunno man, but I would've let it go for sure, unless badly damaged
  19. Congratulations "Poppy" Fine little fishing buddy and footy mate you have there!! My brainwashing worked on my boy (the 'other' SA team but :ohmy: ).But my daughter's a shocker... I took her to AAMI this year for crows bombers, and she's busy YeLLing out "go cats!" She's only 3 though, so still time :cheer: .Wish mum and bubs all the best getting settled in and we will see youse down Adelaide oval for a showdown shortly :woohoo: Nice one Scaley Tom... Great addition to the Brag Board
  20. Yeah that's interesting mate, not really suited to catch and release, heres my opinion;Although they fight really, really well, I just about never target them. Strange. Im well into catch and release as im more into the challenge of catching fish, preferably light sport fish like Bream or salmon. Even snook. And of course try my luck on the medium sport like snapper and Mulloway.I only target tommies and gar and squid for bait, if I ever target KGW, all keepers will go home for a feed.Guess that's why I don't target carp much though either, because I they aren't suitable catch and release spec
  21. My glass has been half empty ever since I started fishin with ya :P
  22. Surprisingly the little boat is.taken out more often that the bigger one was. My old man has a 5.5 m glass boat and is retired and I use the tinny more often.I think it's because;-A bigger boat isn't as easy to take out by yourself. It takes longer to clean, costs more and is a significant time consuming exercises to launch yourself for just a short trip.-Similarly, the weather seemed to matter more, because I was always keen on bigger trips so didn't want to go 30km to middle of the gulf or even do a goannas run in like 15-20knots. Uncomfortable and expensive, better to get a good day yeah.-T
