  3. cant complain too much got myself a p.b bream (44cm),no mullies though, di score a decent 37cm salmon up at old noarlunga just before xmas that was different besides that the times ive had with the fellas ive met from here over the summer are ones i wont forget too quickley from catchin small reddies with the boys too hitting salt creek for the first banga's trip with plenty more great times too come bring on the winter salmon sessions an the bragging rights  .MM
  4. if im chasing mullies and have too use purchased bait i tend too lean towards sauries justt for the simple fact they hold on well and have a high oil content and just about anything that swims will eat them ,although if im just chasing salmon at porties or the likes i usually just grab the salted pillies down at anglers stuffed i know the brand just know there in a blue bag and for the fish im chasing at i think its $4.50 a bag they get me plenty of fish ,i try too stay away from buying squid most of the time dont think ive ever really fond any decent frozen squid yet .MM
  5. i know what ya mean about fish food mate ive just been feeding em up lately aswell.MM
  6. i think from memory they were selling them in bulk 20kgs lots at pacific marine but its a fair trek for us fellas on the southern side of things not sure if they still doing them either mate was a while back i read it in the paper.MM
  7. welcome too s&h mate , i was down there with southie the other day and was only casting a matter of about 4 or 5 mteres into the shallows ,we had just got there and the boys hadnt even finished riggin up and i had pulled in the first whiting ,as the boys said theres no need too flick your bait 40mtres away as most of the mullet n so fourth are almost right there infront of you, also if you have the option id be trying not too go with a surf rod myself i prefer a smaller 2-4kg bream stick myself just for the sensitivity of the tip allowing yo too feel even the smallest bite although id be ta
  8. personally i prefer fireline in any lb range but thats personal preference cause ive always had the least amount of wind knots and so fourth it works for me anyway .MM

  17. myself i cant go past fireline basically every setup i have is spooled with as much fireline as i can get on there the only one i have a mono backin for is my 6500 baitrunner cause id probabley have too sell 1 of my kids too fill that spool with fireline completely  .MM

  20. nice collection there mate and thanks for the post im gonna have too show my mrs and tell her she has got nothing too complain about now when i come home with more gear lol, cheers MM
  21. and here comes the other side of the coin lol ,I run a 6500b baitrunner backed with 20lb mono and about 100yds of 20lb fireline on top.I use a 12ft silstar powertip surf rod and as yet havent encountered too much i cant stop although i have came close at 2nd valley 1 night although i think i was lucky it spat the bait lol.Although as for mullies if i get hit by 1 that can spool the 6500 then i think he/she desreves its freedom not that id have any choice in it lol. cheers MM
  22. i too see people spearing at sullies fairly often they either have some big cahoonas or are jst rather stoopid cause fisheries are at that ramp a fair bit through summer guess its just a matter of time before 1 of em gets made an example of ,besides that whats the point in spearing there when ya only have too go a few k's further down the road and your allowed too .
  23. yeah from waht i know the southern boundary is the southern headland of the onk river a few mates and i have spear fished in this area quite alot and we always just carry the leaflet stating the boundaries and aslong yoiu stay out from the southern most point of the cliffs your pritty well right aslong as mr whitey doesnt decide for an inshore dip/snack. although bronzies arent known for attackin humans it still wasnt a good feelin gettin a call last summer 5 minutes after id gotten out of the water after being in there for a couple of hrs too be told about an apparent 4mtr bronzie hangin roun
