  1. Onya lads, I felt the excitement from here, my lounge room......
  2. Yeah Nate , clears as well, he fitted those to my launchers
  3. Hi mate , Got my canopy done at a place on days road croydon park.Good job and I reckon it was under $800, but don't quote me on that.Just looked it up, days road auto and marine upholsteryDon't know if he does rocket launchers but...... I took my boat there with full set of custom stainless launchers already fitted and they just fitted the canopy around what was there, including side clears
  4. There are a ship load of ruggers west beach way
  5. You caught yfw at black point two weeks ago?
  6. Still plenty about, summer is best , a bit of wind is best, little weight is best. Shallows is best . All jetties from large to Brighton had them, oh and water has to be clean.
  7. Forecast says 20-25 k not SE, all week......Does anyone know how and if wind affects the fishing out there?
  8. Yeah, I heard its a world of pain on day 2 as you recover from day 1. I like pain.Report wise, strike hooks gonna have to create a new category to fit it in!
  9. A heads up lads, only seven more days till I head over to the coral sea with my bro and a mate, fishing with nomad for 6 days chasing big gt's etc. CAN'T WAIT!
  10. Havnt seen one if those for yrs, brings back memories!Nasty tail on those things
  11. I was over at Yorkers 3 weeks ago and caught a heap off a jetty over 2 days , using floats ( which I never use) coz I had the kids and wife with me. They worked beautifully with no action imparted from myself. Conditions were calm so there was no wave action either . I just kept casting up current and let the float work back with the current.Colours wise I found this;Bright day, 1 particular bright pink holographic jig did most of the damage catching 80 % of the 20 or so caught. Second was a yo zuri red head with a dark green yo zuri catching only 1.That night I headed back and found the oppos
  12. Hey lads, went for a quick Arvo sesh yesterday off west Bch, got into the whiting with 28 boated, tried my grange rugger spot at dusk for 2 small ones then a quick shoot back over to west beach to get 3 before the water stopped. Out at 1 pm. Home by 8 pm, nice bag .
  13. Yeah, something about their metabolism. It was awoonga.
  14. Hi mate,I went to Queensland last may to fish in those stocked damns ( forget their names, but the famous one) with jonny, the bees knees of barra gurus. Had a great time, booked the boat for 2 days, called it quits after a day and a half , not a bite!Too cold was Johnny's reason, damn barra are a different beast to river barra.So..... Don't go to qld in winter .Nick
  15. What smokey means to say is, unweighted when the tide is slack, you can't fish unweighted when the current is ripping. So at high or low , unweighted, in between use the weight you need to hold the bait out there. If you use circles you need to keep the reel in gear so make sure it's wedged safely in a Rock or you might lose it.
  16. Hi all,Ventured out with a mate last night, left west Bch at 4.15 pm and headed north. Managed 19 whiting and a few squid before the sun dropped.Back towards west beach after dark, sea glassed off beautifully , managed a few more squid and 3 ruggers before calling it a night at 10 pm.Action was steady all night. Also managed a double hookup on what I thought was going to be two ruggers but ended up being two fat drummer.... One on squid and one on pilchard. Weird. They both went back as did a lone cuttly . Almost forgot to mention I got the king kong of squid on my snapper rig and hook anothe

I catch a few for live bait every time I head out for snapper, on deeper reefs, metro
  18. Yep, I was the same, tried some flick baits and curl tailed grubs to start with and I must have cast them 1000 times for not a touch.I reckon it was a combination of wrong place, wrong technique wrong baits .I switched to my favorite sp of all time, the Berkeley 3 inch power minnow in pumpkin seed scale and things started happening. I gushed different locations where I knew there were fish and honed my technique to a nice slow 'flick flick sink'. It was magic. Started catching plenty of bream , small mulloway and st's.The thing that changed was my confidence.... That's how I got to catch more
  19. Went out off west beach last night, 8 pm till 2 am, beautiful conditions, for a bag of 10 ruggers, 4 squid and one kgw.Wasn't fast and furious but slow and steady. Havnt fished out if west beach for about 3 months and was pleasantly surprised.
  20. A wise man once said ' only a donkey knocks what it's ass didn't try '
  21. Did you spot me on the way in about 4 pm? Two bearded dudes on a cruise craft.
  22. Went out today for a midday snapper Sesh, thought I'd keep the Missus happy by doing this...........Ended up with five all around the 60 cm mark, didn't see any of the larger models we've been getting regularly during the evening which was a bit disappointing .Willy weather predicted north north Easters all day and it was blowing almost a southerly all day!?No pics cause I'm too lazy to take pics of little snapper.Went north and deep. And some dude was playing funny buggers trying to ping me while I was on the drift........tool.Not anyone on this site I hope.
  23. Hi mate,Try ross at 'lazy lamb 'down south. He does a mean boned forequarter ( that's what you'll need) and buy some thigh fillets of chicken for your chicken spit.He only supplies un marinated but you could easily marinate it yourself for a superior taste . Nick
