  1. Straight off Alan Hawk's site:New Saragosa SW. Sizes are 5000, 6000, 8000, 10000, 20000, and 25000.Prices in the USA start at $240 for the 5000 to $400 for the 25K.Looks like I've found my new reel for my land based spinning adventures.
  2. Have been looking into that. Was just seeing if this was an option.Would love to have a crack at this myself one day.
  3. Thanks for the info.Haven't actually got the rod to do this with. But was tossing up the idea after seeing some discounted t-curves.Might have a crack with a cheap rovex air strike I have in the rack.
  4. Is this possible on graphite blanks? Or will sanding damage the blank too much?Found some prices on the rodworks website for a build up.
  5. Anybody know what the approximate price would be to strip a new rod of it's guides. And replace with new upgraded ones?I know the approximate cost of the guides I want.Cheers for any helpful info.

  7. I think wildcoast had an article about them a few years back.May have been sa angler though, can't quite remember.I'll have a quick flick through and get back to you.
  8. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when you said Woodside.I live in Woodside, South Australia. We have a river nearby that holds trout and Redfin.
  9. I love that site! With the exchange rate at the moment it's a no brainer.I'm very close to purchasing a 10ft Shimano colt sniper bb shore jigging rod.Fuji k guides for about 170.PS. Those Aero 4000 ci4+ reels are very tempting
  10. With the videos on web and detailed, illustrated diagram (in Japanese) that comes with it, you could not get this knot wrong.
  11. Update: just bought one of these from Japan. About $50 shipped.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oop72-nkGVw&sns=emCan be used to tie PE 0.6 to PE 7.Leader wise looks like up to about 70-80lb.Will suit 90% of fishing situations in SA.Squid and Salmon to kingies.Extra piece of mind throwing those more expensive lures.
  12. For me it would be kingies. Even though I'm yet to crack one.For fighting ability plus they are delicious on the plate. Also range of size, legals to unstoppable freight trains.
  13. Spur of the moment trip today out of Cape Jervis.A nice feed of whiting was what we were after. Our regular spot produced 6 chunky whiting all just under 40.When the tide started to fly along the fish dropped off.Picked up 10 or so Tommies for snapper bait and a couple of nice sized squid.Good to come with at least a couple of meals.
  14. Headed down to Rapid Bay Jetty this morning right on sunrise to try for that elusive land based King.Beautiful day, but only managed interest from an angry cuttlefish that grabbed a texas rigged zerek shrimp.Thought the oldies down the end would love it, so off it went to be in some sort of Italian or Greek dish.Tried various plastics and a lot of casts with a 45gm waxwing.Stopped at Second Valley for not much but found some very fishy looking water down the end of the point. Big deep hole.Lots of Yakkers about taking advantage of the perfect conditions.Came home happy, even though I lost the
  15. 15lb braid is spot on.If you get something like power pro or sufix 832 15lb will break closer to 30.Sunline super PE, in my opinion a better line, will break closer to stated breaking strain.
  16. Have a look at the Daiwa Generation Black supercasta. It's 7'6 5-10kg.Will handle any sized snapper and give you a chance on a larger mully.Would be a great stick to chase salmon on aswell.Around the $150 mark.
  17. 9ft shimano jewel or starlo classix.Probably the jewel as it has pretty pictures of stones on it.In all seriousness I have a jewel. It will handle any salmon and small mulloway you come across.
  18. BOM is showing 0.5 swell for Thursday and max 0.8 on Friday and no rain likely up there for Thursday and Friday.
  19. Yep, check it everyday including Saturday and Sundays
  20. Around $100.There's another video of a 'school girl' tying it easily using the tool.
  21. For the price of it though, you'd want to tie a lot of FGs!
  22. Found this interesting piece of kit whilst browsing plat.Looks like it makes tying the fg knot a cinch. Here's a vidhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8Mwddcxs94&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  23. Bought a Wild Weasel today. For the price they are very good. Look out Mullys!Shimano is no match for Daiwa in the lighter rods.Looks sexy with my rarenium.Trying it out Wednesday arvo.
