  2. the st's were everywhere yesterday , birds busting up the surface , it was crazy , got a few for bait.
  3. cheers , thought it was that , but in saying the "new" powerstation it looks kinda old , hence why i asked , also is the quarantine station across from the sub corp there , with the jetty coming out.
  4. hi just a quick one , can anyone tell me the whereabouts of the new powerstation down outer harbour way , i think i know where it is , just want to make sure of it.
  5. Get a daiwa spellbinder 5-9 kg for $149 , its got the new k guides which are tangle proof and it has a very nice action ,colour scheme would also match your reel perfectly .
  6. Yep there is a fair bit of good gear out there , and most has been in my hands , some of which is sitting in my spare room on rod racks . The two outfits i metioned earlier are definately my go to gear whenever i hook up the boat , I have a calcutta and a 6500 on short boat rods that permanantely sit in my boat and never come out , these rods have a squid jag and a whiting rig attatched at all times just incase of emergency.
  7. cheers mate , pleasure to use too , just hate the care i have to take in not damaging them on the boat, but hey small price to pay
  8. snapps and everything else big that swims by - 2010 saltiga 4500 running 50 lb braid matched to 2010 saltiga 60s 30-40 lb rod.Whiting all the way down the food chain to squid and tommies - 2010 certate 2500 hi gear custom running 10 lb braid matched to a 2010 daiwa spellbinder 5 - 9 kg rodthats all i ever take and all i will ever need.
  9. texaliums are good but use old style guides which arent much suited to braid . I have been shyed away from these on 2 separate occasions by a tackle store owner telling me how it is.
  10. what type of bigger fish you thinking of chasing mate???? ,in my opinion it would probably more suited to heavy jigging and not much more , unless your chasing rays or sharks.
  11. havent used em , but had a look and they do look very good , r&a's got em cheap at the moment i rekon.
  12. what about a saltiga ballistic surf rod????? seems like that will match up pretty good.
  13. i myself would stay at home with the wife all the time cooking and cleaning while she gets the well deserved rest she needs from all that work she does , who needs fishing when you can stay home with the nagger.  :vomit:
  14. lmao ............. jeeeeeezus fellas :woohoo: :vomit: :vomit: :vomit: :c
  15. At the end of the day the moneys better in our back pockets , feeding our familys , rather than the tackle store blokes pockets , and anyone that disagrees can give me some free money if they want.
  16. if the local tackle guys looked after us a bit more then maybe we would buy there more often, more cash in my pocket = more gear i really dont need . No cost to me mate im not the one thats gonna lose business and ill still be able to get what i need anyway , i basically only use tackle shops for last minute things , and then i usually find myself at kmart or big w as even their prices are lower than my local tackle store. Example, 300 meters of power pro at the local tacle shop $70 or there abouts , same thing on ebay but from america $28 shipped to my door now i dont know about you but i ha
  17. just giving my opinion on what ive used and know, also not the smoothest of braids and wind knots frequently , hence why sunline castaway was made , these days i use fins and powerpro and have had less wind knots , better knot strength and better abrasive qualitys , i run these braids on all my reels now and trust them fully.
  18. stay away from sunline , weakest braid i have ever used in the 6lb range
  19. Apparantly he was some sort of ambassador thing for shark sheild , and sources say he always took 2 down with him , so i doubt very much he wouldnt have been wearing one , and every diver knows that the ascent is the most dangerous time so i doubt his s/s would have been turned off, Only time will tell if they were on or offf when police divers find em . Surprising that they dont hang em off the boat while the divers down there. Wonder how those police divers feel jumping off the boat looking for the remains knowing theres 2 hungry sharks in the area. Tragic mishap . I personally think the wh
