  2. Agreed. It's been a long time since i bought a news paper. No doubt there will always be a place for magazines, i would choose a certain GP over another if there was a better selection of magazines in the waiting room.I'll probably pick up the new issue of one of the two locals tomorrow.

  6. I have a huge stack of old mags just in boxes. I'll keep 'em for sentimental crap and a bit of old info. Every now and then i'll have a look through them cause i remember there's a story in an old issue that i have that i wanna suss out but apart from new adverts, and some minor new techniques they're all the same. For the next generation. it's all new to them and they'll be saying the same thing in 10-15 years unless there's a paradigm shift in fishing.
  7. Yeah W2BF, i bought one a few months back cause they had the new issue plus 2 older issues combo and i already had those :c issues. Gave 'em away.
  8. Are overall sales down or the publishers just trying to raise the circulation numbers to increase advertising revenue?Just about every mag i saw at the newsagent had a free lure of some sort. I hardly buy 'em myself any more. Last one i bought was for Jacks article and already read about his exploits on here Same crap all the time and now no issue is complete without the obligatory squidding article.Has this "new" internet fad affected readership? It's more up to date on what's happening out there.
  9. Haha, yeah, always nice going for a dip at your place Trihull.@WahooDidn't Flinders Uni and SARDI release findings mid last year?
  10. Hahaha, if John C Reilly had a twin, in "Talladega Nights" it would be that guy on the cover. It's uncanny.

  12. Bent87, the ol' Master Baiter.Don't tell me ya mate got it up the stick and now has to pay child support too
  13. Why do i get the feeling this is someone's assignment for a Psychology class? Deliberately ask vague questions and give vague replies and see how long it takes for respondents to pop a forehead vain.
  14. Pretty much what Paul Carter aka ecofreak explained at the squid night at R&A a while back.Re: Squid & BurleyPostby ecofreak Technically squid do not smell they taste, part of the nervous system that runs down the 2 candles (longer tentacles) contain receptors similar to taste buds, you will often see squid touch a squid jig or bait before it strikes and this is simply to taste the prey. As the squid can project their candles to twice the legth of their own size they are one of the most important part of a squid they use them to taste, attack and to spawn, the other tentacles are simpl
  15. Brilliant! Cheers, great pics.
  16. How much do you reckon deployment would cost? I imagine a barge/s plus lifting cranes etc.
  17. Spoke to the fella in charge of RecFish WA. $1.8mil for the design, manufacture and deployment of 60-SIXTY concrete modules over 2 sites and a further $1.5mil to monitor and assess over a 4 year period. So please dismiss my earlier conspiracy theory posts
  18. Ohhhh man, i thought PIRSA and DENR here wre a joke. Looking through the WA fisheries web site i was interested in the results of the "WA recreational boat fishing survey". So go to the link on the web site-http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/Fishing-and-Aquaculture/Recreational-Fishing/Supporting-Recreational-Fishing/Pages/Western-Australian-Recreational-Boat-Fishing-Survey.aspx"It is anticipated that findings from the survey will be available by September 2012."Couldn't find the results anywhere. What the hell, i'll call them. Got passed around to 4 different department within WA fisheries and no one
