  1. I got the same book mate, its a good book, infact I caught a fish on the eyre that is caught on the west coast...banded sweep, i know it was as the book gave me some great info
  2. I reckon I have seen ya fish there as I go there pretty much every day now that I live in Adelaide, are ya that bloke who fishes by the mangroves?
  3. No worries mate, the fisheries wont do anything as I have no details, but as they had no idea, I should say it should be compulsory for people to get free regulation booklets when they buy tackle.
  4. I should have followed them, but the thought didnt cross my mind ??? at least I could have gotten their rego...but have reported people before about a bloke cathcing undersize crabs, but dunno what happened, at least we got this blokes reg 8)
  5. Another theory I stand by is never fish with ya money in the pocket, I stand by this as when I fish my club competitions without money in my pocket and 60% of the time I get into the top 5 heaviest bags.
  6. I saw a couple of blokes fishing today, who showed me their catch, one fish would have been on legal but one was tiny! I really think education is the key as I could tell these blokes had no clue... didnt wanna confront them as I could tell they would probably come onto me (rough people)
  7. yeah, there are heaps of baitfish there, but the bait guys are annoying as they literally fish on the top of ya, i have success there when nobody else is fishing as the fish get scared off by the bait guys.
  8. Cheers mate, don't forget the berley!
  9. Ah, I am in the same position as ya!, a good landbased spot is where bower road is where the water rushes out of the lake on the dropping tide, better spot after dark, I know there are jewies here as I have seen them caught, and have seen them swimming in the channel. And also when ya fish for them berley up heaps as it attracts the lil fish and brings the jewies out for a look.
  10. Jewies like channels and bridges, or even better, a combination of both, it seems like ya know what you're doing. What sort of environments are ya fishing? (not after secret spots of course!) I am just curious as I can try to help out. Also are ya casting in close or far out at these spots? as mullies tend to feed along the edges of dropoffs/channels etc. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
  11. haha, I am the same, I spend ages looking at lures I didn't even intend to buy lol.
  12. see if ya can get a snyder glas mag bream rod made up, they are great all rounder rods, which can handle all fish except for big buggas like sharks and rays lol, but seriously they are great rods, i use mine for club fishing, ya won regret it they are awesome!
  13. Beat this! :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: But on a serious note mine was 45 cms overall, took a photo but a crap one on my old phone http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/HcM2A9zq__DSC03876.JPG[/img]
  14. HAHA fiddlers are funny, they are so lazy, I have picked up quite a few, and when ya chuck em back they just sit there haha.

    live baits

I stick them right up the back just below the dorsal fin, I put them anywhere near the spine as they last longer and are waaaay more active.
  16. Ok mate I stand corrected, at least we all agree it aint a fiddler but close to it.
  17. I would say this person was ignorant as its vital to get local regulations no matter who you are, even if ya are a local its important as regulations change all the time.
  18. Its sad as the onk cops heps of crap over the years, yet the scum still do this, shocking. > > >
  19. Yeah, i found that out the hard way with my first overhead, don't have it too tight either.
  20. Aint a fiddler mate its a shovel nosed shark, good eating apparently
  21. Ah I got a discount which would equate for four of five packets for free, cus i know the people there
  22. My first fiddler I caught was kept as I heard they are good to eat, was pregnant unknown to me :-[ and when I was cleaning her out came several pups about 15cms long, they thankfully swam off when I put them in the water.
  23. Definitely juvenile salmon, I know some ppl get confused and say they are a different species, but they are salmon, albeit smaller.
