Hey buddy. When i first started out catching bream i used a small #4 hook, 3 ganged on a running sinker rig with white bait, never failed. For lure i used a 10gram chrome steel holographic lure ($3.50 at Kmart) also worked awesome. I always started off on bait til i get hookups then switch to lure. Enjoy and happy fishing.Gimbles

The salmon trout seem to be getting fatter and fatter at Pt Adelaide! Took the kids out today on the boat from Snowdens (car survived the car park ) A hook up on every cast, odd 1 or 2 were under, otherwise they were 25cm plus. Great fun for the kids, and me, baiting hooks, de-fishing hooks, casting, snags etc... Lol. All worth it!! Plenty of dolphins out and about for the kids to see also. All in all a great day. More stoked about the car not getting broken into more than anything. Lol. Gimbles

You'll have no trouble catching your limit, I caught all mine on lure, kids caught theirs on bait. Have fun!! Re; The boat ramp. A close friend of mine works for the local council, his job involves getting out there every second day to sweep up the multiple patches of broken glass. Very unsafe for your car if your out there at night chasing bream or mullies, only a couple shining lights, very inviting for the riff raff. I have friends who have had their cars broken into and smashed into also. Daytime seems ok though, and the ticket machine is still out of order so it's a freebie launch!! Enjoy and take care. on harbour side not far from the shore seen people getting squid and snorkling there ive seen them aswell, not in gr8 numbers but there round there

You'll catch squid anywhere along the Adelaide coastline around any broken bottom,I catch my squids anywhere from the Goannas to Semi reef, just drifted for them and you'll find them or they'll find you. Go through the metro posts and you'll see the reports.

Have caught many boat limits from st kilda and a bit north but best from late april - august. Try the area just north of black pole 3-4kms and drifting when the water is clear in the cooler months, you should do ok. Another tip is size 2.5 - 3.0 jigs and cast them up current and work them back towards the boat. You will get lots of weedy snags but also should get lots of squid!!!!! Normal depth here is 14 - 18 feet.
