  1. just wondering where are you wanting to try this? and what are you chasing?
  2. possibly landbased whiting, but these seem to be rare in recent years. Mulloway of the nights. cnt help much more as not many people form the club fish there these days.
  3. No red meat or chicken can be used as crab baits. not that it is policed very well.
  4. less then 12-15m. most of my land based snapper would not be any deeper then this. if 20m plus no need for bait runners usually.
  5. i know im not brenton, but i use as they seem to spook easier when they feel resistance.
  6. Baitrunner feature used when landbased or shallow water fishing. in saying this i only fish deeper water from a boat minimal. I also do not use circle hooks. I prefer my 4500 and calcutta 400 over the 6500. the 6500 feels heavy and clumsy.
  7. I agree with double trouble for the most of it. BUT the stimulate aerosol spray is amazing.. i rarely use that term.. Ef-knows whats in it but i swear by it on my squid jags. i have had snook, salmon and rat kings hit the jigs when using the spray.
  8. in saying what i said, head inland, not to the mouth. massive deep holes that hold fish at all tide levels. if you go deep enough you will come across a dam wall.also try middle beach. Council just installed a state of the art boat ramp at a coast of $200k - funded by the Feds. your car will be safe as this is an actually township. head out the mouth and go north (right) and you will come across another channel, this is where the big whiting live... enjoy..
  9. STRONGLY ADVISE NOT LEAVING CAR UNATTENDED!i work for a local government body that deals with the area. i have seen everything down there from dumped dogs and cats (alive and not), to burnt cars & even a burnt 20ft glass boat, asbestos is always dumped there as well. we can not nab them as they often use stolen plates and our cameras are often vandalised.for your own safety dont go, land based is fine.
  10. Never, ever thought it actually held numbers of fish.. dont know why..
  11. so... who is going to purchase and provide a report to us all on how it works? looks like it could be handy. cast it out when land based or at the river fishing when you have been ground baiting?
  12. Okuma and Shimano for my reels. My 3 Vsystems are bullet proof, 4 small epix baitrunners as well. Cant go past the real baitrunner my 4500's and 6500 shimanos. i have a 3 diawa CY's in varying size from 2500 to 4000 and they arent bad for the coin.In terms of rods the calstar and rodworks are first choice for 9 foot plus, then the tcurve and raider series for me, dont forget the old Penn Sports Series. i have a 1 piece team diawa tierra 10-20lb that i dont like (will sell if anyone is interested). Shimanos service back up on spares is amazingly quick from my local store.in short Shimano becaus
  13. A river some where - great show, not only about the fishing but the adventure of getting there. when i was a teenager i didnt understand or have time for it. as it was a birthday present for my 21st and had nothing else to do on my annual leave when it was too hot to go in sun, i thought i would give it ago, i watched it 2-3 times. love it now (im nearly 30).
  14. Trying head south out of Ard's. You will see a small dirt road just past the Silo's. This little place often holds Tommies, Mullet, Yellow Fin WHiting (when in season). The Jetty holds King George Whiting in the cooler months and Snook most of the year. Squid baits casting out to deeper water at the end of the jetty. Snook using unwieghted pillies or white bait.
