  3. Invest in some SCUBA gear and a license and catch twice as many and don't have to worry about your pots being nicked!
  4. But i think that the point trying to be made my one side of this argument is that if new AR's are put in place and Snapper start schooling on them, then the fishing pressure on the schools will become greater since there every man and his dog will have the pick down and lines set, than if they were allowed to roam free among seagrass beds and offshore drops that are only frequented by recs once a week or so...
  5. Is it just me or is it becoming increasingly difficult to differ between sarcasm and actual facts and opinions on this thread anymore?

  8. A smaller marlin would be gar, if you work out pulling strength pound for pound You would see some of the smaller fish such as gar, reddies and bream rate a much higher mention.

  12. I'm not entirely sure but the silveries and catties are most likely by-catch of callop and or carp respectively. But if you can't try and catch them then what do you say to people still catching and releasing cod?
  13. Slimies are hit and miss but it is around this time that enter the gulf and inhabit most of the usual snapper drops, wrecks and areas. For some reason they have a death wish and live with their main predator.
  14. If Kelvin goes just bring up the pick and leave.
  15. So I was walking down the street and got smashed from beh..... Oh wait different fight. But yeah best fight 40kg Eagle Ray on my 3-5kg Sahara and 2500 Symetre off Largs Beach. The Symetre was singing a lovely tune until the backing  so i decided to put the brakes on the 8lb braid and luckily it came to a halt. Around 1 hour later the ray got tired and the big fella finally got beached. A quick weigh with the help of my friend and I wanted the ray back in the water ASAP. She got a bit of life to her and swum back the the flats happily!
