  2. your a funny yet cruel man Jack lol :lol:I dont fish for mullys or snapper regularly, but me and my mate have certainly started noticing a pattern with snapper at wallaroo jetty.. they do not like full moons or anything near..we've found less moonlight the more they are inclined to bite, tide heights dont seem to matter that much either.. Although im embarrassed to admit we haven't landed one yet (apart from some undersized), had some awesome runs and break offs though! one nearly pulled my mate over the rails lol, and it wasnt a ray..kingie maybe? who knows, but we're determined to land "what
  3. this thing must be costing the owners a fortune to keep it docked at the wharf, and i imagine Vitera would be loosing a fortune not being able to dock other ships in its spot.. If i was the major of lincoln i'd be pretty pissed at the whole situation

  5. yeh well thats the question, how the hell do you rig up a live crab lol?you'd have to soften them up a bit i reckon, ganged circles under the belly should suffice

  12. Im now a proud owner of 3 C14 Stradic's, including UHF's 4000 which he caught that impressive red his pic (thanks mate) had a few hook ups off wallaroo jetty with it but yet to land one unfortunately, they are clever bastards there for sure! Ive invested in a shit load of circle hooks so hope to fix that soon PS, the drag sound beautiful when you get a good run!I also have a 3000 and 2500, both unused as yet but hope to christen them on my lincoln trip over new years. You will love it mate Ive never owned or tried Daiwa's but Shimano have always been good to me
  13. your not wrong Del, think last count was roughly $600 on lures, plastics, jig heads etc, and I'l probably still end up getting more stuff when we get there lol.. fairly confident we'll come back with a decent haul ;)Just Me, I dont really have a particular outfit just for squidding, but mainly use a starlo stix tournament pro with a stradic 3000, 15lb braid, bit overkil but it casts a mile.. I have a new outfit which will be primarily used for squid/gar as soon as I spool up the reel, its a 7" Raider II with a Stradic ci4 2500, 8lb sufix braid.. this outfit is unbelivably light and should be g

  18. Leather jackets are seriously under rated, mostly cos they dont cook them properly, well imo anyway.. My sister used to catch bucket loads at pt vic and they're one of my favourit table fish.. fry them coated in just flour, vegeta with some garlic and parsley.. obviously you skin them first but damn! beautiful!
  19. Of course they do...just like they comprehensively police metro landbased with all those manpower resources they have... Although by the sound of it I reckon that was probably the very catch inspected by PIRSA to determine that 72 whiting equates to 7 kilos of fillets for Possession Limit purposes! :evil:Hey Kon, cheers for the reply.. I respect you saying you come here for a holiday etc, its certainly a great place to visit for a fishing trip! And hell everyone needs a holiday lol, and im sure oure our regional friends greatly appreciate tourists income But its very well known tha
  20. and this is why victorians flock here in droves during december/january, because they dont get to grow anywhere as big over there! I had no idea 28cm was their legal length, stupidity at its finest.. had a good laugh watching some videos on youtube of victorian snapper fishing, where they carry on when they catch a decent panny lol, they would most likely have a cardiac episode or get pulled overboard if they got a beast we have here! i hope these idiots get everything they deserve On a similar topic, i recently procured a good amount of whiting heads from a VERY well known fish monger (fo

I've always done it head first so the head sits near the hooks but he reckons hes had better luck doing it the other way round, i was always of the opinion it looks more natural head first cheers
