  3. Found this elsewhere:First we went over to the Cutting and did some Dabbing, got 40 Garfish, then went to the St Kilda side and noticed about 10 boats near the end of the channel, as we came out of the cutting the Bloodworms were starting to run and it was only about 8:15 pm.We headed south toward Garden Island and eventually drifted back with the tide to where all the other boats were dancing around each other. The worms started to come thick and fast after 9 pm and finished about 10:30 pm or so.Lastnight was only the 2nd night after the New Moon so things can only get better. All up we bagged

  8. Sounds like my decision to stay at work for the weekend was the right one, didn't miss too much otherwise, by all accounts. Not so long back (those that know me would know), I sat many a cold, windy, miserable Winter day at the Adelaide Boatshow. Helped Camero Skiboats in their heyday & manned a Waterski Tuition stand many times over.Tackle was done well & there were plenty of bargains for all to enjoy. The place pumped. I mean 10's of thousands of punters over the weekend, if you were to believe the figures put out of todays attendances, you should rightfully assume little has changed.G

  11. Took a short road trip to Blanchetown this week, promised the kids a day out in the tinny & a quick flick of the old spinnerbait.Arrived expecting the water to be slightly low & to my amazement, found the downstream ramp deep end some two metres above the water level, this was just the beginning.Found another temporary ramp further downstream & launched.Ventured cautiously toward the lock in less than five feet of water, 2 kids on board & a Jack Russell, took a couple of shots as shown & comparative to yesteryear what a disgrace. My guess, at least 2 metres lower than the
  12. Rob, I'm sad to hear you scored a bummer. I only too well know there are some good, some bad & some ugly operators out there ATM, this of course is based on what you guys tell us on real time experiences.Kangaroo Island, I can rate Gavin Solly as very good, 0885 593232.Port Broughton, Paul Sims, Snapperama 0438898179 provided me well.Arno Bay, Ash seems to get the rap.Choose cautiously locally & in busy rural centres.Finatic
  13. Anybody go??? By all accounts they have been slow, even the pro's are struggling.Oh well, it happens, sometimes they fire up in June albeit this year it appears not.Calendar yourselves in for Sunday night July 26th & Monday 27th, I should expect to see plenty from 8pm onwards.Landbased dab netters may want to try Outer Harbour ramp, if you can still access it or Port Gawler turnabout. You got it Pescados, should I have suggested the North or Eastern bank of the stretch opposite the Sub base, no need to go much further than Pelican Point, especially if the wind is blowing. If it is windy you
  14. Chucky, your'e on the money hereA point of contention in itself, sure the show has moved to a heated, central location in the middle of winter, sure there is some lovely boats & accessories on display, there always wasbut, what about Carparking, other than for those on the stands?what about the extraordinate entry fees?what about the hot dogs & cokes that damn near cost more than the fuel to get there?what about the tackle stores that used to display some midyear bargains?what happened to the 200,000 plus people that used to frequent it at the freezing dodgy old hole at Wayville? More cu
  15. Breamer's, Calloper's, Trouter's, Snook gods heres an offer that doesn't come around too often. Twice a year I do an order with Yozuri direct in Japan, I'm currently colating one now & it is due this Friday 26th. 16. That's right, the annual Bloodworm run is about to start, as best my diary tells, this coming Saturday night, June 27th will be the start, Sunday & Monday also worth a go. Arm yourself with a Gar style net at least 4ft long, a couple of spotlights or decent torches, a thermos of coffee or Port & a boat stable enough to lean out of. Head to the outside bend of Port River opposite Sub base & head out to sea scooping & sorting as you go.Launching, I'd suggest Angas Inlet Boat Club as safe as anywhere.Finatic

  23. Crabman, quality photo's are crucial. No blood or guts. Well lit. No hats or sunnies (if you must be sure the face is viewable). These few things in mind will be the best advantage you can produce for yourself. So far as script goes, any idiot can edit. I have heard over the years numerous articles that could be would be, except for blood & guts, smokes hanging out of a gob or a beer in hand, no problem for me, but not publishable. Hope it helps.Finatic
