mullies_chaser 0
far out man, I had to see it to believe it! That is a huge whiting! But no tuna though hey? Bummer, anyway I don't go out in the boat at all so all the big Whiting I can manage are only yellowfin, and biggest yellowfin I can remember was 46cm I think, off tennyson beach. ospray 1
It sort make you sad when to think of all those years one that size and age has escaped all the predators of the sea, then one day he stuffs up and latches on to a tempting cockle, unbeknown to him its embedded with a nice sharp hoof.[/color:34ik5k8p]

fishnfreak 0
to be honest, any i catch over 50cm (not too often mind you {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif) go back as i find them not as nice as the juicy smaller ones. I have no problem with others taking big mommas though, i just prefer to leave the big producers out there.

rotare 491
Here's a KGW caught off my boat at the beginning of the year by a mate. Went an easy 61cm and if I recall correctly was around the 1.5kg mark. We were fishing for snapper and it swallowed a 6/0 loaded with half a squid head. This whiting was a monster!
rotare 491
Here's a better comparison of how big it was. Whiting on the left was around 34cm. Look at the difference in thickness!
rotare 491
If you're still not convinced of it's size, here's how it sat in a 60 litre esky

rotare 491
My mate who caught it had never really fished before... beginners luck I guess.
