i think from memory they were selling them in bulk 20kgs lots at pacific marine but its a fair trek for us fellas on the southern side of things not sure if they still doing them either mate was a while back i read it in the paper.MM

Yep! the price of bait is getting ridiculous now.... a kilo of squidheads is now approx $13.65 and I can use anything up to 5 packs chasing snapper

I buy my pillies from the fish munger around the corner at edwardstown. Costs me $88.00 for 15 kilo. then I bag them into 1 kilo bags and freeze. They are just the normal pillies but alot fresher and better sized than the shop ones. Want to see if I can get them from St Marys where they box them up. Not sure who they are though.

I usually wait till Anaconda have a bait sale. Have seen them down to $3 to $4 per kg for IQF quality pilchards. I usually stock up on a few kilos then.

Bait is a ripoff. Fishing is expensive enough without buying bait.Squid and tommies are my favourite baits and i catch these myself.

for southern guys look up jackos seafood christies beach he usually has most baits at good prices and the best burley blocks available at $5 for like 5kg block u cant go wrong better than the ripoff 1kg $15 blocks some places sell lol
