red_devil94 4
Just thought I would try and be helpful. I know some people use google maps or earth to look for new fishing spots or scout them out before going there. Well, theres another website I had never heard of before called near map.. The link is: http://www.nearmap.com/Basically it gives you satellite photographs to within about 10 metres or possibly closer of the ground, and is much clearer zoomed in than google. Put it this way, don't go for a skinny dip outsiye if you don't want the world to see! Just Me, Savagelip and Ranger
bjorn2fish 4,613
nearmap is cool. I've been using it to spy on my neighbours  not really. Been looking at buying a house, very handy for that. Took me about 60 seconds then ohhhh look at that great fishing spot.

plankton 725
The images are also updated much more often then google maps and you can access the archive to look at older images, can be handy for checking out spots at different stages of the tide or times of year. The only issue is that it only covers the extended metro area, so no good for spots further away. red_devil94

jimbojames 285
I found a couple of times that a new spot that YOU found that looks like a cracker ..... already has some one fishing there . Doh . But yes this is a cracker site . Being able to see tidal movements , sand/silt movements , water levels between drought and flood and if your neighbour is hiding something , it is a very useful tool .
