Keen2Learn 0
just wondering if anyone could tell me or give me the link to a good site that would help me with tying braid knots? I am new to using it and would like to know more knots, and have been told that normal knots should not be used or may not work with braid? so I would like to know some different ways of tying knots using braid. any help would be good thanks

If you're wanting to connect braid to a swivel I use a uni knot. Fairly easy to tie with braid or mono. Keen2Learn

Ugly4Life 41
awesome' date=' thanks heaps... any tips on what knot to use when tying to a reel/spool?[/quote']I generally use a uni knot for this too. Not really sure if that's the correct knot to use, but it always pulls nice and snug for me and I haven't had slippage on any of my spools yet. Keen2Learn

Keen2Learn 0
so rather than put it thru the eye of the hook, just loop it around the spool???
TT 2
You got it!Same knot different applications! TT (It is really just a basic slip knot.) Keen2Learn
plankton 725
The uni knot has heaps of uses, as people have said a double will connect braid to mono or mono to mono, and the single can attach line to your spool, snell a hook quite well and even connect a tippet to a fly line.My two favourite connections for braid to mono though are the slim beauty for light line, say 10lb and under, or a double tied with a bimini then an albright to attach the leader for heavier stuff.Any of those sites can show you those knots, or just use the google. jackblack86 5
personally go for a hangmans knot when tying braid to teminal tackle. Since using it my loss rate has gone done significantly
nicw 0
A double uni knot is very easy and useful for tying braid to leader. If you tie it a few times, it's very easy to remember
