  1. heh heh heh... now that would be telling :pwouldn't want to go stealing your fellow site member's spot x's now would you.but I wouldn't begrudge you stealing spots from other sites members! :DBTW I took the liberty of searching all pics on here, and can tell you not many actually have GPS locations. And the ones that do, I've PM'd to let them know
  2. For anyone interested, I've knocked up a simple EXIF Remover tool that will strip all EXIF data from multiple files very easily.Just simply select all the files you want to strip, and drag and drop them onto the file icon. It will then create new files without the EXIF data.EXIFRemover.zipAnd for anyone super interested, I have attached the delphi source code for EXIF Remover.EXIFRemover_SourceCode.zip
  3. Well I'll be.. never knew there was a dam up there.Had me scratchin my head for ages trying to work out where that second place was.
  4. yup.The recording of GPS data in photos is called GeoTagging. It is a fairly decent idea (how many times have you looked at a photo and said, where was that taken?), but it poses privacy issues if the person taking the photos is unaware of it and shares these photos. It doesn't help that some 'smart phones' are set by default to record this info, and most of these phone users are totally oblivious to the fact.So yeah For Sale ads with GeoTagged photos means anyone can see where the item is located...
  5. There's a few online options.http://www.exif-remove.de/ (128Mb size limit)http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/exifremover-remove-exif-data/ (10Mb size limit)http://exifremover.com/exifremover.php (1Mb size limit)and more if you google them
  6. If you have a fancy smart phone (iphone etc) that has a GPS, turn it off when you take pics of your fish AT YOUR FISHING LOCATION...Your current GPS location is stored in the picture (EXIF data), giving away your 'spot x'. Or if you take a picture of your catch at home...So do yourself a boral paver, turn off your GPS, or disable the option to store your current location in pics.
  7. Caught a few decent sized ones off Largs jetty last night, took a bit more work on the low tide though.
  8. stay relatively shallow in the wash zone and kneel or plonk your bum on the sand. dig a little bit around you and as the waves come in and out around you they will assist you in your digging by collapsing the holes you've dug and exposing lots of cockles all around you.i found this the most effective method, sure you are gunna get sand in your jocks, but its worth it and coz you are sitting down, you save your back
  9. I'd have a go at the mouse wine. Seagull wine on the other hand... no thanks.
  10. Yup' date=' took a bit longer than a couple of minutes though.. but there was 200 of them in the pot in laws loved them, even the missus who was a bit skeptical about eating cockles had two helpings.
  11. had some tonight, the verdict was YUM! :)so simple and so tasty, reckon I'll need some more garlic next time though.
  12. exactly jags, most places will be fairly reasonable, if not, just take your money elsewhere :)the inside freezer thing is a good idea and some places do it, but again most places will have only one person on and with it being so busy its nearly impossible to keep up. and then its one more thing to try and keep stocked up between the constant flow of customers.but please don't have a go at the poor fella behind the counter, after all he's stuck there selling cream, ice and gas bottle refills all day while you are enjoying your christmas day. this same thing happens on new years eve.
  13. I used to work in a servo that sold ice this way on christmas day, and from experience most people don't care too much if its a little melted, just happy that they can actually get ice. The bags in the middle actually keep fairly well. Its only towards the end of the day when there aren't many left and they've been there all day that the bags are severely melted and this is when customers start complaining, and rightly so. I used to let customers have what I thought was equal to one bag worth of ice and keep the actual bag for credits from the ice company. If they were forced to hire a freezer j
  14. just walk along the beach and look for the holes in the shallows. usually a dark mound. then pump in the general area, as said, if they are there they will come to the surface and you can scoop them up.watch out for their big claw, it does hurt ;)I've said this many times, you can pump them inside the o'sullies boat ramp too. but not sure if they are still there after the dredging that was done, but worth a look.nippers do not keep and go all mushy once dead, so its best to keep them alive in a bucket using a battery powered aerator from an aquarium shop.
  15. you could also try asking a roofing mob, they use lead for flashings and usually have lots of offcuts.unfortunately they are also aware of the scrap metal value, but it's another option.
  16. I have one of these bad boys. Kinda reminds me of the squiddies on the Matrix Its plenty bright and has 4 different modes, the red 'night mode' is kinda pointless if you ask me though.Only prob with this one is there is no simple off switch, you have to click the button to cycle through all the modes to turn it off again.
  17. Great pics nev.if you have a cannon IXUS camera, you can get custom firmware that takes photos on movement automatically, like when it sees lightning (alot faster reaction than your finger ). Lookup CHDK, does alot more than the standard firmware.I'm guessing the pros either record the whole lot on highspeed high def film then edit out stills, or have light triggers for their still cams (external sensor that tells the cam to take pics when it sees a sudden flash). The last storm like that we had, me and some mates were watching it roll in at the beach. Nice warm night, lightning getting closer
  18. Never meant it was clean enough to drink, just that it is water and not poo sludge as some people would think. If this water went through the desal plant, it would come out the other end the same as the sea water would, clean enough to drink. No briny water pumped back out to sea (because you are using freshwater), no salt clogging up and damaging the osmosis membranes (Expensive!)just for you tony its a good read although 10years oldhttp://www.atse.org.au/index.php?sectionid=440
  19. What I don't get about the whole desal plant & poo farm thing is this, why don't they just pipe the already 'clean' water from the poo farm to the desal plant? solves both problems of putting fresh water into the sea, and the putting back of ultra briny water from the desal plant.its stupid, hey lets pump fresh water into the sea, then 500m up the beach suck in salt water and take the salt out so we can drink it... ?!?!? this is one big waste of energy and money.and did you know that the amount of waste water pumped out to sea every year in adelaide is approximately equivalent to how much
  20. Kurt Cobain had this solved years ago
  21. can't remember what it was but more than likely a shitty or st in the port somewhere fishing with my uncles when I was about 5 or 6.My uncle was the one who introduced me to fishing, even went raking at parham and a trip to browns.I feel sorry for the kids out there that don't have a father figure around to introduce them to sports etc, if my uncles weren't around I might not ever have fished or played footy.
  22. G'day Inter, most of those crap stories originated on the AdelaideNow website in the comments from readers. I too was having a good laugh at the majority of the BS people were spouting on there when the story first hit the paper and web."The shark has no teeth, obviously its a gummy shark, not a bronzie" :icon_lol:Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that form opinions without knowing the full facts.I appreciate you taking the time to fill us in on what REALLY happened and I look forward to reading of your future adventures.Keep doing what you're doing mate.
  23. This is a 'HUGE' porties squid I caught a little while ago. I could see it cruising around the small reefy area in the shallows and decided it would look better on my dinner plate.Size 2 el-cheapo jag using a coke bottle as a float saw the demise of this poor squidy at precisely 1:30am http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/MJyAEI9s__porties_squid.jpg[/img]
  24. This story is front page on todays Advertiser.I wonder how the public will react to it. I think most might take the 'one less shark to worry about' stance.EDITActually, after reading the comments on AdelaideNow most are taking the 'Hug a tree, the poor shark, fishermen are evil' stance...BTW the SARDI guy that took the shark, his email is rogers.paul@saugov.sa.gov.au if any of you want to find out anything about the dead shark, like was it actually pregnant.
