    Ouch!

I'm with Coonta. I'm not going to open up those images either :thumb:I saw a programme on TV a while back about a young guy sitting on a dock near some guys fishing with squid jigs. A freak accident happened. As he tilted his head back in laughter, a fisho prepared to cast his jig and it went down the laughing guys throat!! The more he swallowed, the more it lodged. The swallowing reflex was a natural reaction. The guy eventually recieved medical help. He ended up surviving. :icon_e_surprised:
  8. I thought I could hear the music from "Jaws" running through my head!!Great footage. They look menacing with their beady eyes but awesome and amazing at the same time.
  9. It is made of a light wood. I think it is Meranti. I add a very small split shot in the belly as ballast just to help with casting weight and to enable it to sit upright. I have seen some homemade lures on another site and this guy uses an airbrush to finish them off. They look very professional. This is the area that I would most like to improve on. Hope to see some of your lures soon pwilly

    The quote

I usualy don't react in a negative way and say "Oh yeah, why is that?"Then they usualy relax and we end up having a good conversation because they realise that they are making a fool of themselves. That is unless the guys a complete village idiot and then I would ring "The Undertaker"
  11. Ta davidbloop. Will epoxy give it a dull finish though?I just used a nail varnish.......hold back the feminine jokes please :icon_lol:
  12. Cheers Ranger. Have made some before but sometimes they get waterlogged. I need to use better paints I think.
  13. I was bored the other day so I started to open up my homemade lure box and made this popper. It seems to work ok in my back pond. It bloops well. I started to make some homemade HB's last winter as well. Never caught anything on them yet but I want to try some on the Bream.

    Bream as bait????

Mmmmm, they must be good bait then. Worth a go.

    Bream as bait????

I would say that would happen a lot, especially with Bream. Probably why people use Mullet.
  16. Thanks fellas, I will give it a go soon and hopefully report back with some good news. Karma points all round.
  17. This might be a stupid question but...Does anyone use Carp strips for bait in the sea, for Snapper or Shark for example? Are they too mushy to stay on the hook?
  18. Marineland........now there's a blast from the past!I used to love that place. BTW, didn't the Marineland dolphins end up as the Port River dolphins??
  19. Is that him on your avatar mate?Yes Tony. Jeremy is driving the Ariel Atom. He enjoyed driving that one too. He makes me laugh.@Keen, you sure are. Gr8 stuff m8.
  20. I've caught two YFW on the 6" Gulp sandworms cut in half. The colour was New Penny.
  21. I saw a funny piece on the Ford Focus ST(UK) done by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear fame. He was having so much fun in the 5cyl turbo charged little beast that he nicknamed the car; the "A.S.B.O.". This is short for Anti Social Behaviour Order in the UK.As I enjoyed the article, and as it was about that time that I was joining another fishing forum, I thought that asbo would be catchy and easy to remember.A bit abstract but nevermind ;D

    Gents....

Karma point Kelvin ;D. I always thought the casters were useless. Cheersasbo 8)
  23. Ditto Ranger. Same thoughts as you m8.One of my friends suggested this; Use the lake water to water the parklands(when it is full again) and then refill/top the lake up with treated waste water. That way the lake water is always being recirculated so to speak.Just an idea. Might keep the algal blooms away. Also we need Carp comps in there too.asbo :icon_cool:
