  1. I grew up around that area, fishing is tops. Trinity beach is very close to the mouth of the Barron River, bream, barra, trevally, flathead. Live bait is what I used to get the big fish with and used a cast net as its legal, 5 min live bait solution lol. You might get on to a few Mangrove Jacks further upstream around the mangroves but the sand flies are shocking so don't forget your anti-bug cream. If you can travel though I wouldn't waste time only having 2 days, the Daintree River is my favorite area to fish land based. Koala Beach Resort is cheap and walking distance to the mouth of the
  2. Great fishing Alex Not only in a great fishing trip but the way you present it to anglers like many times in the past and i'm sure futher ahead into the future. Very inspirational to see you maturing into a great South Aussie fisherman.
  3. unreal height...anyone got pic's further up?
  4. You could try what I found has been a great reel Siena 1000. Cheaper $38-$59 depending where you buy. Best price was $38 at BCF sale. Had the reel for two years, it gets rinsed fresh and innox spray after each session and still reels like new. For this price there is no need to really be concerned about knocks and bumps so more focus can be on fishing and I am sure most fisho's that use or have owned one would agree they are worth it and would likely be on par with most other spin reels under $100 or more.
  5. wow, more hits than a Youtube cute puppy
  6. They had a similar problem in northern Australia years ago with crocodile populations increasing and over culled them, mainly due to the risk of attacks on humans as well as livestock going missing. They made money from the skin and meat so a good living was made by those who were part of the cull. Perhaps there is a way to cull them to benefit the economic growth in SA, perhaps do a deal with Japan in exchange for stopping whale killing
  7. looks a bit deformed...might have washed down from Japan
  8. I have two bream outfits 1. rod-G Loomis 1-4lb about 6.75ft 1pc reel-Daiwa Certate 1003 6lb braid 10lb leader. total value $800 aprox 2. rod-Shimano Catana 702 1-3kg reel-Shimano Seina 1000 6lv baid 10lb leader. total value $150 aprox I get equal results in successfully landing fish with both I have more luck and have caught more on the Shimano rig I get less wind knots casting with the Shimano rig fishing with braid. Over all the cheaper Shimano rig has a better history The Diawa rig feels better in performance at times and so it should given the pric
  9. Kid free on Saturday and going to hit the Onk to catch/release a few bream and hunt for mully in the Pro Angler 12. Hoping the minimum temp is not far off 10 degrees by then, shouldn't be much off that. Sunday there is looking a bit windy though would love to hit it both days of the weekend. Got so many hard bodies still boxed, new and hanging for a twitch.

  14. I heard from staff at port rd bcf today a bloke caught a mullly at West Lakes with a crab lure and that they were on the shelf there. I was in a bit of a hurry and did not see which kind of crab lure it was but if you give them a ring you could find out.
