  1. Gratz Meppstas on a well deserved win. All your reports have been outstanding over the years, enjoy your prize and more importantly keep enjoying your fishing
  2. I bought an sj5000x and sold it after taking it fishing a couple of times and it not being useful. . I got extra batteries and a duel charger on the side and yes the battery time was pretty poor if recording 4k yet still not very long with 1k. Each time the battery is turned off the setting return to factory default which meant setting it over each time upon switching it on (pain in the ass+less fishing). Turning it on was a problem for me as it was a manual procedure. If or when I get one again it will be a wireless remote to make it much more easier to use without having to handle
  3. I used one on my last trip and found the rigging needs to have some good balance to cast efficiently but in that they do create less wind drag and enable a longer cast I found. In saying that I caught more on my standard non pulley rig but they were in different parts of the gutter so can't really say they have a difference on luck lol
  4. Some good rookie action put to the test.
  5. I hope he got it back in the top drawer before the missus got home from work she might of smelt something fishy.....but then again
  6. Nice one dan, there are some good looking holes in the Onk via sounder though I have not managed to catch much within the depth itself but nearby it in the shallows/flats/rocks. I got lucky on my first Onk session land based with a 40cm a few years ago on hb. Yet to beat 37cm with sp let alone an Onk mulloway there, Good luck in future target's
  7. Great aspiration topic . I'd like to have a crack at the Yorks east coast creek near Price in the yak, target bream and explore the system. Will be aiming at bream in the Port on and off when I have to odd day (not enough time to travel) as entered in the kayak bream comp in a couple of months time. Will aim for squid and legal salmon trout in some mornings outer harbor as I need local bait for some Salt Creek for Summer and perhaps the odd pinkie in the process. target hopes are: First West lakes mulloway First 100cm mulloway First surf mulloway First Coorong 100cm mulloway
  8. Good one Doobie Those gutters look good and those five beauties would have given the Seabass a proper break in
  9. It mentions removing braid from the reel for storage. Who does that? and who ever does how do they do theirs?
  10. If I was ridiculously loaded, had everything, needed nothing else, I'd probably buy or start a charter business with a 1st class vessel and crew. I'd be happy breaking even as non profit and always have a spot when it desired me. Back to reality One that loved fishing would spend allot in a life time The first for many would be a gift from someone. Xmass 1983 rod+reel for me, even caught fish that day using worms I dug up from the chook pen.
  11. FC Rock Sunline. Always used it and never had problems with it. It is a popular brand but I am not sure of other comparisons.
  12. Nice weapon and a good few salmon to reward the day Doobie. Pity you couldn't salvage your lost lure, maybe next time
  13. Good haul Wilda, was that a Salt Creek area?. You might have a new pair of Spotters soon mate
  14. Nice day in the port launching from St Kilda, shocked to only catch two salmon trout all day. First cast was at a pole not long after exiting the launch channel and it was smacked by this puppy. Was it a bream? was it a flat head? it's not a mully... wow! first Port Snapper. Snagged this toothy bugga next shortly after another first this Port Snook. No bream, no mulloway. Went to my secret creek and nothing was there, bream are on holidays somewhere, usually spot a few and see some on the structure scan this time of year but nothing today. The bream might be where all the
  15. Cool breaming Alex Did you end up having much luck up at PA?
  16. Nice catch from the poo hole haha. Great share method, I have a new camera and will do the same soon. What is a good editor to download/use?
  17. Pontoons in the lake attract some big bream. Have caught about ten 40+ My pb in the lake 45cm My pb yet from Port Gawler Creek 49cm Yes I have gone through all the emotions for not owning a brag mat yet lol I measured the points from this picture when I got home after that session five times. The shortest was 49.3 and the longest 49.6. A brag mat probably would put this fish over 50cm because of the waves in the mat. Will be buying one soon because I want to enter a few comps between now and next winter
  18. I took the yak and launched at Birkenhead ramp for a slash around the southern end of the Port. Sounded allot of area from the Bower Road to the yacht club, bridges, pile on's, rock walls. No mulloway and no bream . I did find some fish scanning near the old bridge where a wreck is at about 5 meters depth and pulled 7 st from it before moving on. Much unlike the Northern Arm where I would have pulled about 70+ ST lol, I did not have allot of expectations on catching much due to the time being the middle of the bloodworm fiesta, was more to just get out and give my rod/reel combo a f
  19. Mixed feelings, weather, blood worm feeding all the fish, time, these of a few thinks daunting the path to a wet line atm. Will hit the Onk Saturday noon if the rain can part for the incoming tide. Will give a days yak in the Port around the southern area given the rain and wind stay away
  20. Perfect time to hit the banks and washouts with a Minelab detector. Could have uncovered a few nuggets in the rite areas.
