I think that Brown Trout is an Atlantic Salmon. Check out the tail.

That 0.843kg fish was caught by a bloke called Rex Donnithorn at Brown's Beach in the 70s. It was during a Western Districts club comp. Someone at the weigh in pointed out that it was a Tommy Rough and not a salmon.

Got a few 1KG sized Salmon in the Chapman River,chasing Bream over on K.I., when the mouth was closed. It was great fun on soft plastics. Almost like Barra fishing.

Saw a 44kg Kingie landed on a 6/0 Senator last August.Not the latest and greatest reel,but still tough and reliable,as are all old American made Penn's.
