gday guys im getting ready to head out in my kayak in 6 weeks i know its early not much else to do! But im interested in some info on squidding from the yak or the jetty or a boat as i have never had much luck at all with catching squid. I would like some tips on rigs used and jags and maybe what to look for when casting or paddling in my yak. ie weed beds surrounded by sand patches or vica versa? any info would be much appreciated thanks Reelin!

dont mean to hijack the thread but are they easy to cast from the beach for surf fishing? and whats the difference in distance between that and say a penn 950ssm which i have if cast by the same person? i have this daiwa on my wishlist but ive never used a baitcast and am a little bit scared of birdnesting if casting long distances on windy days!

yeah i would use 1 for that amount and prob 2-6 hours in tha fridge. we used to use 2 kiwi fruit to 5 litres worth of trellised squid

Good topic guys and girls i feel that education is definately a big factor in fishing and thats what these forums are doing is providing a way for opinions to be heard without nastiness and maybe even encouraging people to be more pro active. Apart from professionals we all do it for fun lets keep it that way

I have just put one one layby a 7 ft 1 piece 2-4 kilo it seems pretty good its from anglers choice as well. 1onme pillie i have seen a photo of a massive fish in anglers (choice cant remember wat it was) caught by a atc baitcaster i think from what i hear they are a pretty decent rod

gday guys wondering if anyone has used or is using an A.R.C. graphite rod the arc stands for american rod company the one im looking at is a 7 foot 1 piece it feels really nice and is very light they stock them at anglers choice just hoping that someone could give me some feedback as i might purchase it
