Ive had a few pms, and Im reluctant to be the oprganizer of such an event due to the hectic schedule Im keeping atm with the young fam. But it was suggested by a couple guys that a weeknight, after say 7-730 would suit due to work commitments and getting young kids to sleep.Im in agreenace and such a time/date would suit me, it would be a pretty low key time to be in the Beer garden/bar area at the Highway, and probably quite suitable for a meet and greet type of event more so than a drink fest.

Agree, salt, pepper, lime n butter. Basil would be the only other, maybe.

The highway is my local so makes it very easy for me.Just dont wear any "sports wear" in the beer garden cos theyl kick u out

This would be great, have some new gear Id love to stretch. But the weather has been lousy at best and we've been trying to get a weekend together with just 2 boats to happen and its bloody hard!!Even a friday night at a pub , put some faces to names would be cool

Id do carpet, but use press studs in a few vital areas to keep it fixed in place.Have it in 2 managable sections that can easly be removed for when hosing out your boat. Then hose the carpet out in the back yard and let them dry seperatly.Probably a bit anal, but thats what Id do after re doing all the floor so nicely, especially if keeping the old girl for a long time, or even for preserving her for another 30-40 years

IMHO, you have 2 very important aspects you havnt considered/mentioned:What are you towing it with and where will you want to store it.In addition, how many people do you envision fishing with you? Any kids? only in good weather or are you likely to fish all round the year?Much esturary work planned?You say you only want to fish in our gulf, our gulf can get pretty knarley at times, with steep, close set chop. I often scratch my head at the end of these threads, so often the actual boat purchased in the end ( if it happens) ends up being very diffrent to what was first thought

Can comfirm Port is very quiet. Spent a few hrs cruisin around this morn putting more hrs on my rebuild. My girl didn't loose a bait and I didn't get one tap on the rubberj

Not surpirsed mate, but its one of the joys of the free world, we can choose what we read and what we dont.Reports , and write ups are a bit thin on the ground atm, gives us too much time to get "too political" I reckon

Agree, you shouldnt die, but it may be a slow trip depending on how comfy you want to be during the journey.Not to mention the bouncing around whilst trying to fish.Then you have the predicted showers and always the chance of a mechanical failure meaning a long wait and a slow tow back in crappy conditions on a day where you may be the only trailer at the ramp .But hey, you may get a bag of good fish, boat doesnt miss a beat and a trip home after lunch in slowing winds may end up a high five moment!!Be sure to post back tho!!

nah, took it out on my last boat which was a 13ftr so therefore fine weatehr only.I better ebay rod is the Sambo elite brand.I have a 24kg stroker and still looks the same as the day I paid $16 for it. Never caught a fish on it, but a mate has the same rod and he did a greenly charter with it where it performed faultlessly. Ive also witnessed him skull drag 20kg BFT with it

I have a "Commander" 7ft over head, 15kg, reckon its been on the boat once in 3 years, not even used. Every eye has green corosion. I cant say anything else about it
